1979 Ford Mustang Indy pace car Description:

After several years searching for a completely rust free 79 Pace Car I found this one in Salem Oregon I purchased it and had it shipped to me in N.C.. it had has no accident history and the body was straight with original paint and ZERO RUST when I got it. I loaded it up and took it straight to the body shop to be stripped and to start a list of parts.searching for parts was a long process. There are so many 79 Pace Car specific that are difficult to come across. Matt from FoxResto was working with TMI on the tecaros Indy seat covers and was able to get a set 2nd only to his. I ended up going through a lot of front bumpers and lower air dams before I found a good I damaged pair without the crumbling decaying rubber like most had. I found nos door panels & all the small, often forgotten parts. The car was stripped to a bare metal shell, painte, striped with a original oem decal set and slowly reassembled starting with new suspension. It has a new UPR tubular Kmember, control arms, coil overs, Kyb struts, close ratio rack, cobra brakes, braided lines, going to s new SVO master cucylinder and booster with an adjustable ford racing proportioning valve. New upper and lower control arms in the back, a 95 sn95 rear end set up with 2:73 post rear with aluminum girdle rear cover. The e-break is hooked up and works great. It has a new 86 svo, sending unit, Walbro pump and new tank, inside the floorpan was covered in sound deadening mat, the carpet and Matt’s are new the console is in great shape, seats are of course covered with tmi’s covers, the dash pad is new and it has the correct steering wheel and center cover. Most of the interior knobs, handles and controls are new. The head liner is new on a new board but it’s got a few wrinkles in it. The removable sunroof shade fits nice and tight in place.Under the hood is a 92 5.0 with a b cam, billet valve covers, true gt40 intake that I had powder coated, egr delete,new water pump, big flue aluminum radiator and thermostat controlled electric fan with a matching aluminum shroud,130amp alternator, power steering pump, plugs, wires, cap. Power is fed to it with a optima red top battery mounted in a aluminum box with a cover. The car is wired with a complete Painless Wiring, wiring harness, it is a turn key, take you anywhere you want to go 79 mustang.pace car. I picked the right car, one without any rust,!took my time, didn’t cut any corners and made a car that is fun, fast, dependable and always gets attention.
