BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
1980 Mustang Fox Body Coupe Notchback
This car is a daily driver and pretty much untouched
under the hood, almost exactly the way it came off
the showroom almost 40 yrs ago. Other then normal
repairs etc. Factory AC is charged and would work if
the controller on the dash was replaced and fixed.
Recently had a fuel pump and new carb installed.
Paint is all original from 1980 as is the interior with lots
of patina and fading. What you WONT find is rust or
more specifically, any rot. Runs and drives great and
car gets all sorts of thumbs up by other Mustang owners.
Its actually alot of fun just to leave as is. BUT I know
there are some buyers out there with other plans if they
get it. Its just a car driven and maintained well over the
yrs mechanically as needed. No frills, and its served its
purpose well.

DRIVETRAIN: the original straight 6 runs and drives great
esp for its age. Carb and fuel pump are new. It is a little hard
to start after it sits all night, but the more I pump the gas the
more it helps :) and I know how to start it when its cold now.
After 2 or 3 min of warming up it runs at its best for rest of the
day and starts right away each time. Auto trans shifts great too.
No smoke or weird noises etc. The fact that all the emissions
components etc are still intact are amazing. The ACs been charged
and blew cold, but the controller on the dash was falling apart
and quit working last month.
INTERIOR: take a look, for the most part it will need a full
restoration inside. Alot of the plastics are very brittle from the
AZ heat and age. Carpets, dash and seats showing alot of wear. Floorboards actually seem to be okay and the Dr seat is not leaning back like most Mustangs this old. The original owner was a smaller lady which is probably why. Windows, interior lites all work. Radio is aftermarket, and couldnt get it to turn on or work. At least all the stuff needed to restore this car are now available, making this a great restoration candidate. Doors have NO sag. Trunk is rust free and basically all original too.
EXTERIOR:the body is good, near amazing for almost being
40 yrs old. The original blue paint has some great patina and some
buyers may just leave it As-is, as a survivor car. Yes some of the
wide black moldings are peeling back. I truly believe all of the paint
on this car is 100% original, and being an AZ car since day 1, there is
not any rot on this car, panels or underbody. Surface rust as best.
Headlights and tailights both work too as do the blinkers.
SUSPENSION:the suspension looks to me bone stock as youmay expect, other then the fact the struts and shocks are notoriginal. Brakes feel great. Handles nice too just as is. Tires areyou basic 14" radials on stock steelies with the original UFOstyle wheel covers.

UPDATE: this car does have Disc Brakes up front which we forgot
to mention, and the brakes feel very solid and predictable. Not sure
if this car came with disc, but Ill add some pics with the front wheels
off tomorrow.
UPDATE: the paint was done when clearcoat was used as you
can see the clear mostly peeled off, prob done back in the early
90s.
Also, for some reason the battery in there is a side post style
and should be swapped to top post in my opinion.
use one.
