1963 Ford Falcon Futura Convertible Description:

Bought this car from a nationwide classic car dealer in North Carolina sight unseen and had it shipped to California. That was mistake one and two, I relied on the dealer to be straightforward on its known operational and physical condition as advertised, stated and implied. From the shipping, besides having the exteriordirty (oil/grime marks),the following damage occurred: The grill and drivers side headlight ring was damaged. When I received it, the top was down (dealer claimed it was loaded with the top up as the shipper originally said it would be when loaded into the truck transport), but when it arrived, the top was down. With the battery totally dead and it being a power top, how did it go down? So now the top needs some adjustment to fit correctly again. That can be done (have cost estimate and will do).Other issues discovered upon receipt that were not disclosed by the dealer prior to purchase: Parking brakedidn'twork. For a manual transmission, having no parking brake is a big deal.Horn didn't work, as well as some electrical issues such as the turn signals and some dash gauges, stuff the dealer had to know. A hole in the back of the seat was just again "overlooked". When I had it further checked out by my mechanic, they told me that theengine needs a new carburetor (it leaks gasoline) even though I was told in writing by the dealer, "Freshly Tuned Up & Rebuilt Carb".There is a parasitic battery drain after I was told in writing that the car had a "new battery". The radiator and water pump need replacing too.Although I was buying "as-is", and the dealer can't be responsible for unknown issues, this was not the entire situation. All these issues (except radiator and water pump) were known or was reasonable to be known by the dealer. I was additionally deceived by pictures of just little scratches in the paint (in response to the worse body issues), while there is some bondo that was "overlooked" by these professional dealers! My attached photos show some of the areas. The driver side door definitely has some bondo and some in the backend. I paid a lot for this vehicle and to have it shipped cross-country, and I am extremely distressed about it. I will sell it as-is and try to get some of my money back. Overall, for what I am listing it at, and what needs to be done, it is reasonably priced in this no reserve auction. It still turns heads even with these flaws and it will be sold for a reasonable price to its known condition. It's currently located at my 25-year plus trusty mechanic's shop at Hughes Automotive in El Cajon, California. I am also listing a car that the mechanic shop's owner is trying to sell at the same time in another ebay auction, check that out. I reserve the right to end the auction if sold on another venue. Please contact me with any questions.
