1940 Ford Deluxe Deluxe Description:

This car was owned by the family that purchased it new until the mid 1990's at which time it was sold and completely restored by the second owner. The third (and present) owner purchased the car at the Portland Swap Meet about 2004 and has maintained the car as it was when he bought it. At some point in it's life the original flathead was replaced with a 1949 Merc flathead which was a fairly common thing to do to get a little more power and driveability. Other than the engine, the addition of an alternator/12 volt system, and an electric fan on the radiator, the car is completely stock. The car has seen less than 2000 miles since the restoration. Has always been garaged and there is a car cover that goes with it. Flaws are few and far between such as very, very minor blemishes in the paint, some repair that was done in the trunk floor, and a running board cover that has come loose on the edge (see photo). Also, the car suffers from hood alignment problems as many do. It latches OK but the corners have to be pressed down and it's still not quite right. The first two have to be pointed out to be seen. The other two are, of course, more obvious. Hubcaps are not deluxe but standard. The car presents itself very well and could (and should) be driven on a regular basis. Interior is georgous as well. Look closely at the photos as they tell the story and show the quality. Among the current photos are some taken during the restoration and one of unknown date but probably in the 1940's. Note the portholes added to the hood by the original owner. The car has a realistic reserve and is located in Medford, Oregon. Any shipping arrangements and associated costs to be made/paid by the winning bidder. The car can also be picked up in Medford, of course, which is right on the I-5 corridor in Southern Oregon.
