1965 Mustang GT 350 tribute car

1965 Ford Mustang convertible Description:

Early 1965 GT 350 clone tribute convertible Mustang.

Homeimprovements force the auction of this really nice Mustang. This was to be the car I would keep forever, but priorities change. So, up for auction is my 1965 Mustang convertible that has had a rotisserie restoration. The following work has been done.

The complete removal of all rust and the replacement of the following body parts:

·Rear frame extensions, all 4 torque boxes

·Rear wheel wells

·Complete rocker assemblies

·Complete floor pan

·Full rear quarter panels

·Front fenders, doors, hood, trunk lid, rear valance with exhaust ports, and a front Gt fiberglass valance.

·A functional steel roll bar that is tied into the torque boxes which allows for a three- point shoulder seat belt.

·Rear tail lights are from a 1965 Thunderbird and are frenched in.They are notsequential, but could be.

All welding and fabricating were done by a respected fabricator.

The interior is from TMI. It incorporates the sport front seats that gives you more support.The interior is finished in a custom Red and white pony interior. There is a custom TMI trunk kit as well. New molded carpet and firewall pad are installed. There is extra interior red material. The rear quarter window crank handles are extended toaccommodate the roll bar, and could use some more work.

The suspension has all new bushings, ball-joints, and tie rods.

The car is equipped with power steering and brakes. The brakes are all drum brakes. Steering lines and hoses are all new.

Fuel system is all new from the four barrelcarburetor, fuelpump, lines,hoses, sending unit, intake manifold, and fuel tank.

The brake system is all new from the power dual master back. All lines cylinders, hardware, hoses, and shoes. Emergency cable and hardware are new.

Wheels are 15x7 Scott Drake styled wheels with BF Goodrich tires, and new lug nuts. The rear tires are 215 and the front are 205s.

The dual exhaust is aluminized steel, with Scott Drake exhaust tips.

The paint is a Dupont base coat, clear coat product. The body, underside, suspension parts, and rear end are all base coat /clear coated. There were several coats of surface primer, two coats of black base coat, four coats of 2015 Kia Remington red, and several coats of clear coat applied.

The Convertible top frame was re-furbished and a new white top installed. It could use some adjusting with the windows.

Chrome bumpers, door handles, grille pony, fog lights, wheel lip edges, rocker trim are all new.

The windshield has new tinted glass. The doors, and quarter windows are original. There is a small etching on the lower driver door window by the lock. The window door actuators are new, and the windows may need a little adjusting. They are tight due to the new window channel.

Mechanically the engine was professionally rebuilt by a respected engine builder. The previous owner had put about 2,000 miles on it.The rebuild was done years ago when the ownerdecided to restore the rest of the car. The car then sat for many years. It has recently had a new alternator, water pump, sending units for the oil and temperature.The gaskets were also changed.

The clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing have all been replaced. The drive shaft has been checked and has new universal joints installed. The clutch will need some miles to seat it completely.

All the gauges work fine. The dash pad is original and has been dyed. The steering wheel is also original.

There is a new radio, and kick panels with speakers. The radio has anauxiliary option for an iPod orMP3 player.

The car has only hadabout two hundred miles put on it andI am sure willneed some adjustments. The windows to the roof need adjusted.
