This is a solid, well build example of a traditional hot rod that was done right with the right chop and rake that never gets old. This has been nothing but a reliable car that has been a pleasure to own and drive the last ~3 years it's been in my care.I drive this car probably 3-4 times a week spring-fall and it's never failed to fire right up and has never let me down. I've enjoyed owning this car but it's time to move on to the next one.I did not build this car but did purchase it from the fabricator who built it, I've been around these cars for awhile and I can say with confidence that this car was done right by somebody who knows and cares about what they were doing.
While it is a well built and reliable car this is still an antiqueautomobile that will require someone with some mechanical aptitudeto own and maintain. It's built with vintage parts that need to be snugged up every now and then andwill leave a drop or two on your garage floor when it feels like it. If you can't deal with that then this isn't the car for you.
Body:
All steel.Car has been chopped 3-4" but not channeled. It sits on a stock, boxed frame that hasn't been butchered. The body is straight and finished in epoxy sealer that is fading in spots and there are some minor scuffs and superficial blemishes one would expect from a driver caliber car.The doors latch shut with one finger. All glass is newer and free from cracks. The windows roll up and down and the windshield swings out.
Louvered hood and deck lid
Deuce grill shell
Roof has wood bows with a removable cover that snaps on/off
Interior:
Bench seat, door panels and kick panels are covered in brown leather repurposed from a couch that has an awesome worn-in look to it.The windows have chrome garnish moldings.
Floors are a 2-piece wood set up that unbolts for access to engine, transmission and master cylinder
Engine/Trans:
239 inch "100 horse" flathead V8 with 3 speed top loader with synchronized 2nd & 3rd gear from a late 40's Ford.
Edmunds dual carb intake with Stromberg 97 carbs
Banjo rear end with 3.78 gears and shortened torque tube
Stock distributor
Generator converted to 12V with a diode cutout switch, battery located in trunk, wiring is cloth covered with a simple fuse panel located on the frame rail.
Smithy's dual exhaust that exits out of the rear
Brakes/suspension/other:
Juice brakes all around, master cylinder located under floor
Heavy truck front axle, leaf springs front and rear with gas charged shocks
Manual steering with a '46 Ford steering wheel. Has the typical play in the wheel but not as much as most do and tracks down the road well
Wheels are Ford steelies with bias ply Firestone zig-zag tread 6.00-16 tires on the front and 7.00-16 tires on the rear with plenty of life left
Fuel tank located in trunk and is an old aviation oxygen bottle that holds around 8 gallons with an electric fuel pump and pressure regulator mounted to the frame
It has an aux cluster with gauges for volts, oil pressure and temperature. There is no tach or speedo, I use my GPS and plug it into the 12V accessory socket located on the bottom of the dash, which is a '36 Ford style sectioned to fit.
Guide headlights
Clean and clear title in my name. Actual mileage-who knows?

Engine runs at ~180° when warm as long as you keep her moving
Comfortable cruising speed is in the 50-60 mph range with current gearing. Sure it will go faster but the engine is most "happy" running at the speeds listed above.
