1965 Mustang Fastback A code. This immaculate rust free A code was converted into a 1965 Shelby GT350 Eleanor clone.It was completely stripped, then a Mustang Depot E2 body kit was installed. It was then coated with POR15 for maximum protection. Proper Eleanor Pepper Grey and Black was sprayed on and wet sanded to a mirror finish. The lighting system was upgraded to Tri-bar HID headlights, Small PIAA fog lights, PIAA turn signals, and Shelby sequential tail lights. 6" PIAA driving lights with white covers have been installed since the photos into the lower valance to finish the Eleanor look. All exterior chrome trims, grill, and Shelby Bullet racing mirrors are new.Drive train consists of a Fluidyne 4 core aluminum radiator with electric fan. High performance freshly rebuilt 289 with custom large valve aluminum heads, Edlebrock performer + cam, Performer manifold, and a Holley 600 cfm Street Warrior carburetor. Ignition is a Mallory distributor, MSD Blaster coil, Taylor Spiro Pro 8mm high temp spark plug wires. Engine bay fuel hoses are braided Stainless Steel with AN fittings. The engine pulleys were upgraded to a serpentine setup. The engine breathes throughport matched exhaust gaskets into chrome thick flange headers. Then 2 1/2 exhaust pipes flow into racing mufflers, and vent out through the rocker panels in front of the rear tires. The entire electrical system is brand new with a high amp alternator, Ron Francis wiring kit, and a Dakota Digital dash. The engine is backed up to a Tremec 5 speed toploader with a new high performance clutch. Suspension is all new with Edlebrock shocks, swaybars, link kits, springs, saddles, and upper and lower control arms. The Ford 9" rear end has new gears, Summer's axles, bearings, and seals. New balanced driveline. Wilwood dual piston front calipers and single piston rear caliper disc brakes with functioning emergency brake. Upgraded to rack and pinion steering. New Flaming River steering column. Halibrand style cast wheels with knock off style spinners and high performance speed rated tires.
New power drivers seat with racing seat belts. New door panels and trims. New carpet with sewn in jute backing. New floor mats embroidered with the Shelby Cobra logo. New cobra logos and emblems throughout. New Shelby wood steering wheel. Sound proofing throughout. All new weatherstripping and seals. Heater box was fully rebuilt and new hoses installed. Custom stereo deck tucked tastefully up inside the center console out of site. Front speakers are hidden out of site. Rear speaker box consists of 2 amplified 6x9s and 2-10" subwoofers. A solid 10 inside and out. This car is the cover car for Mustang Depo's E2 65-66 body kit catalog.
Always stored inside in a heated garage. Started every 2 weeks and driven if weather permits (never in the rain). Restored in 2007. It currently has 1650 miles on the restoration. Mileage changes due to regular use.Fresh oil and filter change, new plugs, freshly cleaned air filter, and all fluids topped off. Ready to play all summer long.
