This is a Genuine Warehouse Find - One Owner 1969 Ford Econoline E100 Window Less Panel Van with only 92,894 Genuine Miles on the clock
I bought it with a Bunch of Other Quality Warehouse Kept Cars from a Private Collection in Lodi California - it had been stored in a Warehouse since 1986 - it was last registered in 1986
I have all the Original Sales Invoices from Ford along with the Factory Owners Manual the Protector Warranty Plate and a bunch of Documents relating to this Van
It was Sold New in New York - but luckily was moved straight out to California and Never Left and Still Wears its Original Blue California Licence Plates
Now this Van hadnt been started for 33 Years - until today - I changed the Oil and gave the Points a Clean up and it fired right up with Starter Fluid - the Fuel Pump had gone bad - so I ordered a New one and it will here tommorrow and I will get it running
Update
I just fitted the New Fuel Pump and replaced some brittle and cracked Fuel Hoses and also the heater Hoses and its running great but carbs needs a rebuild kit (i have ordered one- as the plunger on the accerator pump rubber had fallen apart) - I havent cleaned the gas tank out and only have it running off a Gas Container at this stage - but Motor Sounds Great no knocks rattles or bangs and the Transmission moves forward and backwards just like it should do
I already replaced the Brake Wheels Cylinder and Brake Shoes all round - and I also picked up a set of Period Correct Slotted 14" Alloy Mag Wheels with Some Nice BF T/A Radial Tires and there is a 5th Spare Wheel to Match - but the Spare Tire wasnt holding Air - I tried to bleed brakes today but didnt have any joy as the master cylinder was no good so ordered a new one today - it will be in tomorrow
It has a Powerful 240 6 Cylinder Motor with C4 Automatic Transmission and a 9" Diff with No Power Options - so nothing can go wrong !!!
I replaced all the brakes today and everything looked fine in mechically underneath but I did notice its going to need a New Tailpipe - and you would probably want to check thru suspension etc completely before it will be ready to get back out in the Traffic - as its been sitting for a long time
Also the Battery Tray was rusty and I managed find a good cleaned used one today in a Wrecking yard and have it cut off - it will be in the back of the Van you will just need to drill the spot welds off bracket and spot weld it back in place - but super had to find a clean one of them - been looking for one in wrecking yards and they all seem to rust out - but thanks to some good old time wrecking yards in California I managed to get an Genuine used one from Turners Auto Wrecking in Fresno yesterday !!!
All the Glass is in Excellent Condition all Windows Roll up and Down and all Doors Open and Closed Beautifully !!!
The Body is Super Nice and Straight and Absolutely Rust Free and is wearing its Original Paint never been in a Wreck - but looks like the Left Hand Rear 1/4 has been Touched at some time, and being a Van its got some minor dents and scratches around the place - but when did you last see an nicer one - I pulled the Rear Wooden Floor Covers out - and Floors are Perfect and the Orignal Paint under there looks great - the Original Owner put the Wood in the Day he purchased it and its never been used as a Work Vehicle
It has a Clean California Title (pink slip) with no Back Fees Due - well and truely out of the System
The Interior is like a time warp - you could recover the Lower Portion of Front Bucket Seat and and your Interior is Done !!!
