The restoration included a 239ci Flathead V8 motor mated to a 3-speed manual transmission. Performance upgrades to the 239 include a 94 Holley carburetor, Speedway headers, 8BA heads and Johnson Lifters. Additional upgrades include a new radiator, rebuilt gauges, Posie springs, Firestone heater and dual vacuum wipers. The cab also contains upgraded insulation for improved...sound deadening. Launched in 1948, the legendary Ford F-series began as a replacement for the previous car-based pickups. For the first time, Ford was building pickups on a dedicated truck platform creating a much better workhorse than previously available.Ford's 1st F-series generation lasted from the 1948-1952 model years, but significantly changed in appearance from year to year making each version unique and pretty rare. While trucks sold well, most were obviously used work heavy workloads leaving few surviving examples in excellent condition.
