1962 Ford Galaxie Description:

Get ready to bid on one very special 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Victoria. It's a real, honest documented 406 cu. in, “B” code, 385 HP, four speed. I have the original broadcast sheet that confirms this car’s provenance. Most of the restoration was conducted by LaPrade’s Auto in Cornelia County Georgia which has been well known for restoring rare and desirable high performance Fords. When I acquired the car back in 2004, the bulk of the restoration had been completed which included an entire engine rebuild from carburetor to oil pan as well as body work and paint. The correct “M” code Corinthian White finish is good as it gets. The clear coat has since been professionally wet-sanded and buffed and is slick as glass. No one that has seen this car recently can believe that the paint is almost 15 years old. The only obvious departure from factory stock has been carburetion. It is now fitted with “G” code Tripower components and, as you can see by the pictures, it really looks good and works well too. In addition to the engine compartment being nice and clean, a lot of effort was taken to achieve as much factory correct looking specifications and appearance as possible. The overall restoration was about 80% complete when I brought it back to Virginia. I took care of the remainder of the cosmetics, including new factory correct seat upholstery material, correct door and side panels and carpeting all sourced from Doug Pollock at SMS Auto Fabrics in Canby, Oregon. The trunk soft trim was sourced from Mac’s in Lockport New York and is detailed perfectly with the correct spare tire, jack and tools. Everything has been properly buttoned up in this rare, rare, rare 62 Galaxie. It sounds and runs as good as it looks sitting on those nice painted 15 inch steel wheels topped with correct Ford dog dish hub covers. Look closely at the fit and finish of the body panels as they are really nice. In 2006, I was awarded an AACA National First Junior at Hershey. There are some Ford guys out there with some pretty strong 406’s and I believe this one is every bit as nice.
