1950 Ford F-1 Pickup Truck w/239 ci Flathead V-8 Engine, 3 spd, and Oak Slat Bed:

If you're looking for a FUN vehicle to drive, that is VERY nice looking, you've come to the right place! Made near the beginning of Ford’s F-series pickup truck line that continues after seventy years comes this classic looking 1950 F-1 pickup truck! I’ve owned and driven MANY classic cars over the years, including the ever-popular muscle cars, and I can tell you that I get more attention and thumbs up while driving this truck than any other vehicle. It has CLASSIC lines with rounded fenders and hood, running boards, an oak slat bed, very nice paint, and an excellent interior. You are sure to turn heads while you're driving this truck. This vehicle isn’t a trailer queen, it’s a fun driver, but it also won’t disappoint if you enter it in some local car shows! Most likely you will be taking home some trophy’s because it tends to be a crowd favorite! If you're looking for a great "driver," one that will give you total confidence in its mechanics, be very nice looking with its cosmetics (but short of perfect,) and still allow you to have some money left in your savings account after you pay for it, this may be the perfect candidate for you! Although we've enjoyed this truck for the few years that we have owned it, we find that as time goes on, we have less and less time to enjoy it and it ends up collecting dust, so it may be time to move it on to someone who can pay more attention to it than we do... The great condition that you see it in now is how we purchased it. All mechanical and cosmetic work was done prior to us owning the vehicle. Even the engine, engine compartment, and underside have been detailed and look fantastic! Please make sure you look at all the photos and ask any questions that you may have. Hopefully the description and photos adequately reflect what a nice truck this is!

The engine is an original Ford 239 cubic inch flathead V-8. Although I’m guessing that it is the original engine that came with the truck, I obviously can’t say that for sure. One thing is for sure, though, it is running fantastic! A previous owner stated that it had been rebuilt at some point and I believe that because it runs smooth, is quiet, and is very dependable. It has a three speed manual transmission, on the floor. Mechanically, this truck is in excellent condition. Recently, it has anew battery, new spark plug and coil wires, and a new distributor cap, to name a few. You shouldn't have to do much, if anything, to the mechanics of this truck. Drive it home and start to enjoy it from day one. The only two things that I will pass onto you so you don’t have to learn them on your own is that there is a battery cutoff switch near the battery, and it pays to use it after you finish driving the truck. If left on, there is obviously something that slowly drains the battery so the next time you try to start it, especially if you don’t try within a couple days, the battery is dead. With the cutoff, that annoyance is avoided. Otherwise, it tends to flood when you try to start it, but again, once you learn that, you stay off the gas pedal and it will start without issue. Believe me, with these being the “biggest” problems that it has, you are good to go! All dash gauges work well. An aftermarket turn signal kit has been installed on the truck since it originally did not have turn signals. The signals run through the rear tail lamps and front parking lights. You manually trigger them with the lever attached to the assembly on the steering column and they also operate emergency flashers from a separate knob. Remember to turn them off, though, after you make your turn because they are completely manual, they do not turn off automatically! This truck RUNS and DRIVES great and we have had NO problems with anything mechanical. It runs and drivesSTRONG and FAST!

The exterior of the truck is in REAL nice overall shape, but short of perfect. But when I say “short of perfect,” I don’t want you to get the idea that this truck looks bad! Far from it! I just don’t want you to expect a concourse one hundred point perfect vehicle! From five feet away, it looks nearly perfect. Get up real close, and you can start to see some imperfections in the form of some small nicks, chips, and scratches in the paint. Where the hood closes on the top of the fenders there are a few small chips in the paint that are nearly impossible to see with the hood down. There are also a few small chips in the paint in the back where the box lift gate is held in place by chains. The locking chains have scratched and chipped a little bit of paint, but again, they are hard to see unless you really look for them. The inside painted sides of the bed/lift gate also have a few small nicks, chips, and scratches. It looks like a previous owner actually used the truck bed to haul things, can you imagine? Using it like a truck?! I’m only kidding, the imperfections are, again, very minor but they are there. The chrome surface on the hood release lever in the front of the hood has a LITTLE bit of pitting, but not horrible. The other side is very nice and all other chrome and stainless steel trim is nearly perfect, including the bumpers. Even with these minor imperfections that I mention, though, this is a very nice looking truck, as the photos show. The steel body panels are all in real nice shape with no rust-through on any of them. All look very nice but they do have some slight imperfections in the form of a few very small chips, some tiny bubbles on the tops of the front fenders that I’m guessing were the result of the last painting method, a little waviness in the steel at the bottom of the doors and on the rear fenders, etc. Again, I’m not trying to make this sound bad. By reading this and then looking at the truck, my guess is that you will be pleased with the actual condition, and that’s what I want. No imperfection is really noticeable, but they are there if you look for them, and I did! I don't think you will be disappointed in its overall look, it looks very nice but just isn’t perfect. But how many vehicles are? The fourtires are Firestone Deluxe Champion 6.00-16 92P Wide White Walls with a lot of tread left. Theyare all in real nice shape. The spare is a Firestone Transport 6.50-16 6-ply. I’m not sure if it is also a wide white wall since I’ve never had it off the underside of the bed. It appears thefour original rims are still in place, repainted, with the original chrome hub caps, with embossed FORD letters, and chrome trim rings. All windows glasses, including the windshield, are in nice shape with no cracks/breaks. The edges of the side and wing windows are starting to show a little bit of bubbling/discoloration along the edges, but not real bad, and barely seen when the windows are closed or are fully opened. Overall, the exterior of this truck presents itself VERYwell.

The interior is also in excellent shape. A bench seat is covered with near perfect materials, no cracks, tears, or rips. Three working seatbelts are in place across the bench seat. The dash board is in fantastic shape with no cracks/breaks in the surface, nicely painted surfaces, great knobs and handles, with all gauges working well (rather rare!) I believe the steering wheel is original and is also in great shape. The original vent lever is below the dash that raises and lowers the vent cowl between the windshield and hood to let outside air in the cab. A vacuum whistle has also been installed whereby when you pull the chain below the dash while the engine is running, you can hear a whistle blow! Hot rodding and customizing at its best! There is no radio in the dash; instead, there are excellent tan colored cover plates in place. The vinyl floor mat is also in nice shape, true to an original pickup truck! The inside door panels are simply painted metal, as original, and are in nice shape, including their door handles and wing window levers. The headliner and rear panels all look nearly perfect and match the seat color. Overall, again, very similar to the exterior body, the interior presents itself VERY well.

Payment for the truck is to be receivedwithin seven days of the end of the auction. A $500 deposit will be required with the remaining balance to be paid with either a certified bank check (with time to clear,) personal check (with time to clear,) or cash. I can hold this for a reasonable amount of time (pleaselet me know your needs prior to bidding) provided it is paid for in fullat the end of the auction so you can make arrangements to eitherpick it up or have it shipped. If picked up, ONLY cashwill be accepted, or a certified or personal check must have already cleared prior to pick up.Clear title will be provided for the truck at the time that full payment has been received and hascleared. In other words, the title will be signed over immediately upon a cash payment, or after the time that other forms of paymentrequire to clear, if payment is made in another way. Whatever pickup/shipping method works best for you, I'll try to accommodate your needs, but full payment is still to be receivedwithin seven days of the end of the auction.

Although I don't have first-hand knowledge of shipping vehicles, I know manydoor to door shippersare out there. I will do everything I can to work with a shipper of your choice with you making all of the necessary arrangements and paying all of their associated costs. The truck will be available at our house for either you or your shipper topick up. Let me know what you need and I'm sure we can work out the details.

If you're looking for a nice driver (and a NICE looking one at that!), this may be the perfect candidate for you. As I said, this truck gets the most attention when I take it out and ends up being everyone’s favorite! VERY early Ford F-series truck styling with an original flathead V-8 engine and nice cosmetic touches including the rounded fenders, oak bed, nearly perfect interior, and fully detailed engine and underside components give this truck a very nice look! Nothing was overlooked when this truck was restored by a previous owner. Although it isn't in PERFECTLY restored cosmetic condition now since this truck has been DRIVEN, it still looks pretty darn nice the way it is! For a "driver," you can't do much better than this truck. It won't disappoint! Dependable, reliable, and mechanically VERY sound, this truck will provideyou witha lot of fun while you're driving it. And with the rising prices of vintage pickup trucks, you will most likely not lose any money on it by the time you are ready to sell! (Not the most important reason for owning classic vehicles but definitely an added bonus!) AlthoughI have mentioned its minor imperfections, while you're driving down the road, I can ASSURE you that heads WILL turn in your direction because this is a SHARP looking truck. This is a good opportunity to get a nice looking, great running early Ford F-1 pickup truck. If we had more time to drive and enjoy this, with room tostore it,we wouldn't be trying to sell it! But lacking all of those needs, it may be time for this to move on to someone else to enjoy and DRIVE, something that we don't do enough of. Don't miss out on this VERY NICE early pick up truck that can bea daily driver.
