1967 Ford Mustang Description:

1967 Ford Mustang 390 4 speed- Two owner car that has been professionally restored to its original specifications utilizing better then factory workmanship. The restoration was completed by a very well know restorer named Desert Classic Mustangs in Tempe Arizona. The engine, transmission, and rear ed where re-built at the same time. It was completed to the exacting specification that the car was delivered new. The second owner of this beautiful, and rare 390 4 speed car is very close friends with the original owner. Originally thinking that he would restore the car, and add modern elements the second owner decided to have it restored exactly as delivered. Eric is owner number 2. Eric surprised Ed (original owner) with a viewing, and of coarse a long drive. Ed was chocked up with emotion that his car was exactly as he remembered it when he took delivery. More on that later. This Mustang was restored by Desert Classic Mustangs in Tempe Arizona. It was completed in 2017. This is a very fresh accuratebuild. All of the receiptsare available. I have a Google album with all of the documentation that goes with the car. Thereceipts detailthe hours as well as the items used. Reproductionitems that were used came from Scott Drake. Scott Drake is known for a much higher quality reproductionparts. Elliot with Desert Classic Mustangtells me that if someone wanted to take this to concours judging status it would not be costly or difficult. Some of the differencesbetween this car and concourswas done for better longevity. An example would be fully painted control arms as apposed to bare metal. Most of what would be needed would be stickers, small grease and paint marking. Elliot is very proud of this car. He feels it is one of the best restored, and driving Mustangs he has worked on. The carburetorand air cleaner are the correct date coded items as is the original radio and speaker that have professionally rebuilt. The sheet metal is original with the exceptionof the drivers front fender. The block is NOT original. It was blown in the 70's. A serious buyer would be able to talk to the original owner and he can tell the story. The block that is in it is period correct, and date code correct. It has been built to original specs by Automotive Machine of Scottsdale.Call me with any questions at 602-908-9267.
For those that Like a good car guy story please read on:

Originally ordered new by the owner of R & M Ford Sales in Willcox Arizona to give to his son. This was a very small town dealership. When the car arrivedthe Son had already decided on another car. The dealership owner placed it out on the front line for sale. Luck would have it that Ed would be driving by in his ailing 1956 Ford when the Brittney Blue Mustang caught his eye. He worked directly with the dealership owner on the sale. Rememberthis was a small dealership where the owner was the salesman. Ed and I had a great conversation about the car. He mentioned that he was a young guy working hard and playing hard. The big block 4 speed Mustang was a perfect car. He said he raced it, and used it as his daily till about 1986. By this point the rear main had begun to leak. Both front fendershad dents, and the rear quarter has taken a light hit. He makes sure to mention that all of these were parking lot incidents, and were not his fault. Ed pulled the motor with the intentionto re-seal and re install. As with many people Ed was a busy guy, and the time never came to re install the motor. The Mustang sat in his yard for 30 years. Ed met Eric in 2014 as a happencircumstancethey began to talk cars, motorcycles, and all things motorized. A friendshipbegan. They talked of the Mustang, but it would be three years later when the sale would be consummated.
In March of 2017 the Mustang was a bit taken apart when Eric had it brought to his home in Phoenix. It was not rusted, but showed signof its previouslife with a kid having fun. The decision to what to do with it next is an interesting one. Eric is a guy used to modern high end cars. A classic Mustang was a bit out or Character. He could build an EleanorClone, or create a modern masterpiecewith a fuel injected modern motorand drive train. What he did was a true testamentto being a car guy. To honor his friend Ed he used his money to make the car exactly as Ed purchased it. Over one year, and $125,000 plus dollars later Ed was brought to tears when he saw his car returnedback to its former glory. In my discussion with Ed he said he would love the car back, but it no longer fits his life, and he is now a truck guy. He was thrilled to get to see it and drive it again. He could not believethat his friend Eric would allow him this opportunity. For Erich it was a labor of love, but now its time to move on.
