1971 Ford Mustang MACH1 Description:

This 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is a Grabber Blue example that has been owned by a single family since it was sold new in Newport News, Virginia, and has just over 115k miles. Power comes from a 351ci V8 mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission. The car has been driven less than 300 miles since a repaint, interior refreshment, suspension updates, and engine work conducted over two years ending in 2017.This Mach 1 is offered by the seller on behalf of his mother-in-law with an itemized refurbishment list, a Deluxe Marti Report, and a clean Virginia title in the current owner's name.

The car underwent rust repair and metalwork prior to being repainted in its original Grabber Blue in 2017.Multiple body components and the rear bumperwere replaced along with thegrille,exterior door handles, and windshield. A stripe and decal set was applied after paint, and lenses were replaced as needed. The car has remained garage stored since completion, and gallery photos are provided to illustrate the condition of the paint and bodywork.

The factory steel wheels wear original-style covers and areshod in Hankook Opitmo whitewall tires.The wheel cylinders, brake shoes, and hoses were replaced at all four corners, while new drums were installed at the rear. Other work included installation of new front wheel bearings, upper and lower ball joints, sway bar links, rear shocks, and more.

The cabin is finished in black vinyl with matching carpets and simulated woodgrain trim. Thedash and door panels were reconditioned, while a partial list of replacement items includes the seat upholstery, carpeting,window cranks, door handles, and window felts.

The car was optioned with a Sport Deck rear seat from new according to the Marti Report below.The cabin and trunk floors were sprayed with protective liner, and a period-look modern stereo was fitted.

The 351ci V8 was equipped with a 4-barrel carburetor from the factory and rated at 285 horsepower with 370 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a C6 3-speed automatic transmission. Restoration and engine work performed by SS Automotive in Yorktown, Virginia. Total renovation expenses >$38,000.00.
