This all original 1983 Ford F 350 DRW 2 wheel drive Manual transmission Standard cab with heater is available for purchase . The Cabchasis was ordered by the Hicksville Water Departmen, Hicksvill, New York in the Fall of 1982 and delivered from Syosset Ford on Monday November 2, 1982 with 17 Miles .The Hicksville Water Department then contracted with J C Truck andEquipment in Garden City Park New York to outfit the F 350 with a custom rear dec, storage boxes and a Hobart welder, powered by the Mighty Chrysler V 8 industrial gasoline engine.The truck was purpose built to thaw out frozen water mains when cold weather struck deep beneath the surface to cripple the flow of water to the homes and businesses of the water district.Not to be compromised by the GlobalCooling that was wreakinghavoc to the community the Hicksville Water department wascalled so few times as that thevehicle has only acquired ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND EIGHTY TWO (1 8 8 2. 0) miles during its service life with the department.This truck has lived better than one third of the planets inhabitants having been kept in a climatecontrolled garage with its own bay for the past 35 years.
