[isdntekvideo] Here is a very solid, original and well optioned 1971 Torino GT in Grabber Green Metallic with laser stripe, white interior and hidden headlights. It has a 302, C4 automatic, power steering, power brakes and factory A/C. This car was ownedfor 40 years by the previous owner and was garaged most of the time which is evidenced by the lack of rust and uncracked dash. Shows 62k miles on the odometer and that maybe original but there is no documentation supporting that.

This Torino is about as rust free as you will find. No rust or rust repairs that I can find. It was never undercoated and the original floors are excellent. Quarters are very nice with no holes or bubbles, The trunk is very nice and lookslike a car that is only a few years old. No rust in doors, frame rails, torque boxes, cowl etc. Body lines are good and doors open and shut nicely. No signs of previous accident damage. The paint is probably a 20 or 30 footer. It sill shines and is presentablebut has lots of chips and touch ups. Black out on the trunk lid and hood were added at some point and are not original. There is a ding in top of the left fender and a small crease in front of the left rear wheel. Laser stripes are showing their age. Therewas an antenna installed between the trunk lid and read window and the base is still there. The hideaway grill is in very nice condition with decent chrome and is not broken like most of them. The rocker mouldings are in very nice condition, including the thin aluminum trim just above the rocker that is so often missing from 1971 GT’s. It also has pretty nice chrome on the front edges and really makes this Torino look good. Bumpers are very straight but have some light pitting. Glass is all good and windshieldis original Original wheels, rings and caps are nice.

The interior appears to be other than the carpet. The dashpad is in excellent condition with no cracks. The headliner is nice. Seats are in good shape with no rips but they are showing their age as the white has started to “yellow” It hasan aftermarket stereo with door speakers and aftermarket gauges mounted below the dash. The seat does not sag and the interior is very usable as is. Rear package tray has the slits for factory rear speakers. It is very nice and not warped except for one smallbreak in one of the slits that could just be glued in place.

The engine is good with no smoke, knocks or ticks. It is mostly stock with the exception of an aluminum intake manifold with Holley carb, aluminum valve covers and chrome air cleaner. Transmission works well. Lights, wipers, heater andeven the reverse lights all work properly. Has the automatic seat release option which also still works. Horn and radio do not work. Tires were just replaced last year with BF Goodrich TA’s. Drives straight and smooth with some typical play in steering andthe brakes are a bit grabby. The tailpipes are rusted so it has exhaust leaks and should be replaced. The A/C system is all present and the compressor is not seized. It still had the belt on it when I bought it but I removed it since the A/C is not functional.Included with car but not installed are a new A/C condenser, dryer and what appears to be an NOS compressor with a D4 part #. The car hadn’t been driven much in the last few years and it is functional as is could probably use some basic maintenance like atune up, brakes etc.

1971 Torino GT’s are much more rare and harder to find than 1970`s and look really nice with the GT rocker mouldings. Overall this is a nicely optioned Torino in a rare and desirable color combination. Grabber Green Metallic is one of the best colors for 1971 and was a one year only color. This car is very solid and can basically be driven as is wiyh some minor maintenace or you could do some cosmetic work and bring it to the next level. The market has started to take notice of these cars over the last few years but they are still relative bargaincompared to Chevelles, Roadrunners, Mustangs etc.

International buyers are welcome. Car is sold as is where is with no warranty expressed or implied. It is available for inspection by appointment only. I have done my best to describe it accurately but please understand that this is a 47year old car that is not new and has not been restored. I have sold quite a few cars on ebay and try very hard to describe them accurately and to make sure potential buyers have any information I would want as a buyer. In fairness to all bidders I will not disclose the reserve. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time, however, my intention is to let the auction run its course unless someone hits the buy-it-now. Reserve is less than buy it now but everybody wants to know what it will take to end theauction so I put a buy it now on there to avoid that question and if this car is exactly what you want and you don’t want to risk losing it then you have an option. Please make sure you have funds available and have gotten permission from your wife, mom orwhomever you need permission from before bidding. Full payment must be made within 5 days of auction end and vehicle must be picked up within 21 days of auction end unless prior arrangements are made. Payment by cash or wire transfer only. Shipping is theresponsibility of the buyer but I will help however I can. Bidders with a feedback rating of less than 10 must contact me prior to bidding or I will cancel your bid.
