1967 Ford Mustang Base V8 Description:

Well sometimes you just bite off more than you can chew, as they say. I did and now its time for me to cut my losses and walk away from the dream I'll never realize (happens more often than you'd think after 60!). Anyway, the star of this assemblage is clearly the '67 V8 convertible. I bought this on title many years ago knowing that any '60s car, especially an open car, would require extensive structural bodywork. To that end I commissioned the car to a local outfit, Graverobbers Sheet Metal, that specializes in muscle car restoration. Their reputation was compelling but a tour of their shop impressed me with the many factory jigs they had for Ford, Chevy, and Mopar muscle so that they could cut away whatever needed it and reassemble the car with new sheet metal in a manner pretty much like the factory built it, true and straight. Of course, quality work like that is not cheap, so that at the end of my pictures you'll see a receipt for $8000+ in body work, more than I paid for the car. Alas, I was really not prepared to move to the next step with health, work, and new grandchild diverting my attention, so it went to the back of the shed. So you can imagine, this is a ground-up project. The original 2bbl 289 is included, but locked up. The trans is included. All the major interior pieces are included, but I don't think any of them are really usable or worth restoring as opposed to buying quality reproductions. The top bows and cylinder are there and in good condition.
The '66 coupe is a "throw-in" but a very nice car nonetheless! It is also a "C code" car, but with manual transmission, so a good starting point for a fun driver. It is a lifelong Georgia car and it is amazingly rust-free. If you are from north of the Mason-Dixon I'd bet you've never seen an original car in this clean a condition, rot-wise. There are a few Bondo'd over dents in the quarts you'll want to massage or cut out, but not much more than that is needed sheet-metal wise. Most all the parts are there for it, too, but everything will need everything. It is sold on Bill of Sale as Georgia will flat NOT issue a title for a 25 year old car.
I hope you are the person who can bring these wonderful icons of our youth back to life! Ask me any questions and I'll give you a straight answer. Thanks!
