1968 Ford Galaxie XL GT Description:

After 10 years owning this beautiful car, I decided it's time to let someone else enjoy her as much as I did. I purchased this beautiful 1968 Ford XL GT Z Code 390 4 spd from the original owner in Marietta Georgia in 2008. This car had 1 repaint in 08 & a new carpet installed. The rest of the car is all original. Interior, under the hood & the undercarriage have not been touched. This car was ordered by the previous owner from Strother Ford in Marietta. In 1968 Ford introduced the GT pkg for the first time in a full size luxury XL line up. You had to order an XL model & had to have a 390 as the smallest engine option to get the GT pkg. In my opinion I think that the 68 was the most beautiful Galaxie built. New styling with the horizontal headlights & new body style along with a new interior, it was just simply gorgeous. To top it off Ford only built that body style for 1 year. By 1969 the whole car changed, bigger wider & more family oriented. The 68 was called the business man's luxury coupe. Ford only built 1855 GT equipped cars that year which included convertibles. This Highland Green 390 Z code 4 spd was 1 of only 141 GT built by Ford in 68. & according to the Marti Auto Works report, she's a 1 of 1 as ordered from the factory. I have all of the paper work from the order sheet, build sheet, manual booklet, to the bill of sale. This car has won numerous awards at local & Ford only car shows. She's a rare car & a rare example of the cars Ford built in the 60s. So if your looking for a beautiful car to take out for a drive or show at events I can pretty much guaranty that you won't see to many like this one. Of all the car shows I attended in Canada over the past 10 years this one was the only XL GT 4 spd that has ever been there. A lot of people didn't know that Ford built a GT optioned 68 Galaxie or XL model. If you have any questions please ask & I will also have additional pictures upon request.
