1973 Ford F250 Camper Special

1973 Ford F-250 Description:

390 V8, automatic, electronic ignition, long bed Camper Special. This truck is mostly original and restored to its period correct aesthetics with some modern touches. Runs great!
History:
It was previously owned by an older gentleman for the majority of its life, if not all of its life, in San Jose, Northern California. My wife and I purchased it from a younger gentleman in Oakland who was flipping it with the intention of making a little profit.
Judging by the condition that we bought it in, this was clearly a utilitarian truck meant to be a reliable daily driver. It had good bones and had been maintained for the most part with no history of wrecks or accidents. The original engine had a few upgrades; Edelbrock heads and carburetor, and electronic ignition. The original AC had been taken out - and so was the aux gas tank to make room for an aftermarket dual exhaust system. The original green metallic color had been painted over with a darker blue color. The paint job was cheap and poorly done so the blue paint was starting to peel throughout. There was no rust other than some on the floor panels and light surface rust with some dents in the bed. The interior was mostly all original, but old and in need of a revamp.
Restoration:
This has been an incredibly fun and rewarding project and labor of love for me and my family. Lots of memories and fun times with the "Big Truck" as it has been nicknamed. But with two young kids, we have outgrown the bench seat and it's time to move on to a more family-friendly ride. The 'big truck' is deserving of a new home and an owner who can appreciate the work that has been done as well has having a passion for classic cars/trucks. This is not a show worthy trailer queen by any means and there is still room for improvement, but it gets plenty of compliments and is the kind of classic that is meant to be driven! The engine runs really well now and is nicely tuned. It idles just right with the new Pertronix distributor and coil in low and high speeds. The transmission is in good order and has been flushed with new fluid. A minor noteworthy thing is a slight oil leak from the left head valve and occasional drops from the oil pan which are relatively easy fixes, but other than that there really aren't any issues. Those are not unusual problems for a 45 year old truck - which happens to be running strong still.
We do have all the receipts and documentation for all parts and service including an appraisal letter from a certified national appraiser (who valued the truck at $23,500.)
