1966 Ford Mustang Description:

You are bidding on a 1966 Mustang Convertible K-code automatic GT loaded with options. This is a one of one car being it came from the factory with air-conditioning. This is a 2-owner car and was in the same town until I purchased the car, this is a retired show car. The car has the rally pac, power top, pony interior, 8-trac and GT package. The convertible K-code convertible is a rare piece by themselves with production numbers in my research between 116 and 200 being produced but none came with air except this one. The story on the car is in 66 the original owner ordered this car but did not order the hipo engine instead he ordered the A-code 225hp engine so he could get air conditioning. Being the the smaller motor was more popular there was a shortage so Ford put the hipo engine since they were more accessible than the smaller one. When the car arrived the gentleman almost did not take it but the dealer talked him into it. The factory put the air in the trunk and told the dealer to install it there. All of this is stated on original window sticker and sales invoice along with the ac warranty sticker. You never hardly see original paper work with a 65 or 66 mustang so this is rare. The gentleman traded the car back in 1972 and that is when the gentleman I got the car from purchased it. He drove it till the mid 80's and decided to restore the car and start showing it. When finished the car won several Mustang Nationals in the Southeast among other shows and featured in several magazines. When he tore the car down it had 52000miles on it now has only 54993 so he did not drive it much. The car still shows very well and needs nothing.
