Hard to find '48 Ford convertibles like this anymore; just as Henry made it. And this car has a ton of options, some of which a very rare. Please take note of pictures 6 --13 which show many of these options.
#6 shows the halogen head lights, the turn signals, fog lights and the spot lights; #7 the blue dot taillights and the backup light; #8 the trunk light; #9 the under hood light; #10 the fender skirts which are not shown on the car. These give the car acustom look and I prefer the open wheel to see the large whitewall tires; #11 the very rare FoMoCo drop down tintedPlexiglas sun visors. I still have the box they came in. #12 working clock and radio #13 working heater with reversing motor that becomes a defroster
This car has had two complete restorations; one in 1985 bythe previous owner and one starting in 2010 with completion in 2012. The last had too much to mention here, but hereis a list of themajor items:
~ Complete new interior
~ upgrade to a modern top lift system and electric w/s wipers
~Complete brake job
~complete fuel system restoration; carburetor rebuild,tank flush, new copper lines, fuel pump, sending unit
~complete exterior paint and new top with boot; engine removed, car disassembled complete 2 stage paint top and bottom with all replated chrome and new rubber. Dash and interior trim wood grain refinishedto original standards.
~Transmission overhauled; new clutch, pressure plate andt.o. bearing
~Complete wiring harness installed with turn signals and brighter lights where necessary
~rebuild radio and clock to original. "I love to hear that clock tickaway"
~Replace tires with period correct whitewalls and improved handling radials
