1970 Mustang Fastback

1970 Ford Mustang Description:

This is a very LOW RUST 1970 Mustang Fastback that needs total restoration. I have the Marti Report which shows this was a sort of unique car. It was built with the H code 351 2V Cleveland engine and FMX auto transmission and was Yellow with Black standard interior with console and Black hood stripe and Shaker air cleaner assembly and 14X7 steel wheels with center caps and trim rings. Looks like a poor man's Boss 302 or Mach1 .? Anyhow over the nearly 50 years of this cars existence things have been changed around. It now has factory air conditioning and power steering and power disc brakes as well as numerous colors on it. But over all this Fastback has a very very solid structure and minimal rust areas to repair! The only rust in on the outer front of both front floor, both doors have rust holes in both the front and rear corners and there is a very small hole behind the passenger rear tire and a small hole in front of the battery tray, That's it s far as rust concerns. I can only load 24 pictures so I couldn't put everything in this listing. But that's an honest description from a long time Mustang restorer! What you see in pictures is what you get. I didn't put a quick coat of primer on it to make it look pretty like some sellers do. The roof and right quarter and top of left quarter panel were stripped to bare metal years ago and they now have surface rust from the primer wearing off in areas. The whole bottom of this car is nearly perfect. No dents or major rust anywhere! Just the outer of front floors and that is all! The engine bay and shock towers are excellent! No cracks or weld repairs anywhere! Very small rust hole in front of the battery tray nothing else! All frames and other structures are excellent! As far as body repairs the left quarter has been damaged and probably should be replaced but it can be repaired if you want to. Both doors are repairable or new ones are readily available. The rear tail light panel has been repaired and I'd replace it with a new one. The left rear inner bumper bracket reinforcement has the spot welds broken loose but frame and trunk floor appear fine. The 351 Cleveland 2 barrel with headers that is in it runs and the brakes will stop car so transportation will be easy to arrange by the buyer. It is not the engine and trans that were original to this car but they are the same as what it is supposed to have in it. This car is located in Las Vegas NV 89129 and it it the buyers job to arrange transportation. I am available most any time and can help load vehicle if needed.

I forgot to mention that the car has a 351 Cleveland 2V engine in it but it has an Edelbrock 4 Barrel aluminum intake manifold on it and a Holley 4 barrel carb on top of that. The doors from a 1970 Coupe have Coupe bolt in door glass in them but the original 1970 FASTBACK bolt in glass are included with the car. The only glass missing is the small quarter pop open windows. The windshield and back glass are in good shape.

Also, the front seats are correct as well as door interior trim panels etc. NOT, THERE IS NO REAR INTERIOR IN THIS CAR AND I DO NOT HAVE ANY OF THE PIECES FOR THE THE REAR INTERIOR OF THIS CAR. All I know is that it was a fold down seat rear interior car. The passenger dash piece is also missing but I may have located one for an additional $100 if the winning bidder wants it.

Car also has a 9 inch non posi rear end in it. I don't know what gear ratio it has. It will run off a gas can under the hood. The car was set up with the gas tank emissions system but has the wrong fuel tank in it right now. It looks like a 65-68 standard fuel tank in it.

I am just adding more info as I found it out. The front pump seal on the transmission leaks fluid out bad when engine is running. Like I said earlier, the car will start and run and move but I would go through the engine and transmission during the restoration because I don't know anything about them. The car hasn't been driven in over 20 years. I was actually really surprised that I got it running. It will not start with the key. I start it with a jumper wire under the hood and just cross the solenoid contacts with a pliers to turn it over. I'm being as honest as possible with this car. I know buyers don't like surprises. This is all just little stuff though. The main value is in this structure itself.

I have had questions about the wheel size on the car. They are the factory original 14X7 inch steel wheels with hubcaps and trim rings.
These are correct as to the Marti Report.
