1985 Ford Mustang GT Description:

Original rust free California car with numerous performance mods.Basic vehicle info is as follows.

• Clean carfax. No accidents. 2 owner car with clear title in hand. I have owned since 1995.
• 97,127 miles original miles on odometer and always garage kept.
• All original paint and interior.
• Vehicle was last driven in 2007 and stored inside since that time.
• Last try to start car was unsuccessful in about 2010. Vehicle is NOT running at this time.
• Original paint.
• No dashboard distortion or cracks.
• Convertible top (glass rear window) in good condition and comes with a boot.

Performance upgrade modifications include the following items.

• 4 point functional roll bar hard mounted to the frame.
• 1 rear panhard bar for increased handling by placing added down force on the rear end when cornering, which significantly improves the Mustang’s tendency to be tail light.
• Replaced shocks, struts, springs, bushings, quads and lowered.
• Cobra 13 inch diameter front disc brake/spindle 5-lug upgrade (original 10.5 inch diameter).
• Rear drum conversion to 11 inch diameter disk brakes installed with 5-lug axle shafts, heavy duty brake power booster and adjustable bias (front to rear) valve.
• 17” Cobra R type 5-lug wheels installed.
• Strut tower braces and sub frame connectors installed.
• Rear end upgraded from original 7.5 inch (2.73:1 gear ratio) to Ford Motorsport 8.8 inch (3.55:1 gear ratio) with speedometer gear.
• 2-1/2 inch diameter exhaust system with equal length shorty headers and high flow cats.
• Transmission support brace and solid motor mounts installed.
• Aluminum drive shaft, performance heavy duty clutch, short throw Hurst shifter and pedals.
• 1.7:1 performance roller rockers to replace the stock stamped steel type.
• Stainless steel flexible blade fan (more airflow), replaced radiator, hoses and heater core.
• Detachable face stereo (have not been able to locate but looking), upgraded speakers with in trunk multi-disc CD player and amp.

The following are some items to address, near as I know at this time.

• Last try to start car was unsuccessful in about 2010. It is NOT running at thistime. Engine and systems need to be inspected thoroughly for any issues. I do not know why the car didn't start and it was not preserved.
• While in storage, mice got into car through open windows and into interior and trunk through shelf under convertible top. As a result, they have dirtied up interior with very strong smell. There is no visible damage that I could see and mice are no longer present as vehicle has been moved to new indoor location. The interior and trunk will need deep and thorough cleaning to correct. Carpet and seat covers may need replacement. Small hole on driver’s seat.
• Minor paint scratches and very small dents exist at various locations. Small spot of strictly minimal surface corrosion (easily removed) near blister on passenger side front fender.
• A/C system is presently not working. It needs to be fully inspected, serviced and converted.
• Recommend that the stock Holley carburetor be overhauled / replaced due to occasional leaning out at full throttle. Auto choke does not work.
• RH rear seat power window switch is not functioning.
• Fog lights not working as probably needs an in line fuse replacement.
• Windshield is cracked on driver’s side.
• Tires have small amount of tread remaining and need replacement.
• Stereo is not presently functional, probably due to a blown fuse.
• Emergency brake cable needs to be adjusted tighter.
• Some small plastic slide caps on the A/C system control are cracked.
• Transmission probably requires overhaul/replacement. Clutch should be looked at as well.

This car has tremendous potential for the right buyer as it has a good foundation. On a personal note, I am sad to see it go as am just not able to do what is needed due to my present circumstances in life. I would rather see my it go to an owner who can take it to the next level and enjoy it fully, rather than sit in storage any longer doing nothing.
