Beautiful 38 Ford Street Rod

Imagine America in 1938. The country is just beginning to recover from the great depression, a war is on the horizon in Europe, and a young man with a new job and a new family manages to scrape together enough cash to put a down payment on a new Ford Tudor DeLuxe sedan. I’m sure he was very proud of his purchase and he cared for it, lovingly washed and Simonized it and kept it well maintained. The Ford in turn provided his family with comfortable and reliable transportation for many years.

Eventually it was passed on to a new owner, it survived the scrap metal drives of the war years, and the junk yards, and was probably driven for many years until eventually it succumbed, as we all do, to old age, worn parts, and an out of date style. Its fate inescapable, the day came when a needed repair exceeded the value of the proud old car and so it was parked along side a garage somewhere and sat for many years its future uncertain.

At some point a fellow from St. Louis MO found what remained of this once shining new automobile and decided to give it a complete rebirth.

Much of the work was completed by a professional shop, Old Dog Street Rods, of St Louis, MO. The build quality is obvious to any observer, and the choice of components are time tested and proven brands. It is all Henry Ford steel, and all Ford running gear.

I’d like to think the original purchaser of this car is still around today, being one of the hardy members of the greatest generation. Regardless his car has been given a new life, it is once again shiny and beautiful, it generates smiles and thumbs up everywhere it goes, and still provides its owner with comfortable, reliable, and most of all, fun transportation, and it is still pampered and well maintained.

My wife insists I have at least one too many cars in my collection, so I am offering this one to a discerning buyer. I would be surprised if you are able to find a better built, better equipped, better looking, street rod offered for a more attractive price.

You may be aware that to build a comparable car would cost the purchase price of this automobile many times over, and take untold months to complete. It has been priced to sell and this is the perfect time of year to buy with the car show season just about to start. I am a motivated seller. It comes with a clear title (titled as a 38 Ford in NH), and thick file of build receipts.

All sales are final with the car being sold where is and as is. To bid you must be over 18 and pay with a money order, cashier’s check or wire transfer.
