This is a genuine Australian 1974 XB Falcon Hardtop, just like the one used in those movies.
This particular car is an XB Falcon GS, which is the closest thing to an XB GT (The original MM1/2 car was a GT, the Fury Road cars were, in fact, the same as this car, all Falcon/Fairmont GS).
The car is located in AUSTRALIA currently. BUY IT NOW price is for pick up from Newcastle, NSW, Australia. However, I can assist with the shipping. The Car:
This coupe is a factory V8 (302 Cleveland, yes in Australia we had 302 and 351 Cleveland engines), it currently has a X-flow 6 cyl with a mild cam, aftermarket intake and headers. I didn't have a spare running V8 to drop in, however that could be done with some negotiation. The sale INCLUDES the matching Cleveland engine, however, it is in pieces suit rebuild.
It is running a 4 speed manual, this is the same box for 6 cyl and V8, so should you wish to upgrade the car to a V8, you can retain the gearbox, tail shaft, gearbox mount, etc, you will just need to grab the bell housing and other relevant engine parts to suit the V8 (top loader is the same, so you can utilise those parts which are common with Mustangs / Torinos, inc Windsor engines).
The body of the car needs restoration as it does suffer from the typical rust issues found in these 1970s Fords. I won't sugar coat it, the car is going for a great price but it does need some love. I've included almost all the rust repair sections you'll need, you just need to do the work fitting them (However you can definitely drive and enjoy the car as is, just depends on your local roadworthy inspection requirements. As a Road Warrior or Fury Road replica, you could just blend in the body kit and blow some more paint over it. A Mad Max 1 replica would more likely require a strip it down to do a nice job.
Interior trim is stripped out for the Road Warrior look. Full steel cage (nicely built). The car currently has an alloy dash as it was a bit more apocalyptic looking, however, there is a full factory dash included, inc glovebox with door, gauges, surround, vents, ashtray and heater box, also the metal top for the dash and the padded dash pad (has some typical cracks with will retain the weathered appearance).
There is a driver's seat, it is black vinyl (the correct style seat for the XB), it's got some wear on the base, similar to that of the Mad Mad 2 movie car.
The steering wheel is similar to the original movie car.
Mad Max Replica parts included:
- Full body kit, inc nose cone, front flares, rear flares, roof wing and boot wing. All new only trail fitted. (Blower in first pic is not included sorry, that is a screen used prop from Fury Road).
- Full set of Mad Max style wheels. Satin black powder coated, 15x8" and 15x10". The rims will come brand new in boxes, car will be fitted with another set of wheels (this is to help you by providing a set of wheels to have on the car whilst you do any restoration work, keeping the Mad Max rims clean and ready to fit.
- Fake zoomie exhaust pipes.
- New Perspex head light covers
