Beautiful Colonial White, Tuxedo Black and White interior 1956 Ford Thunderbird. Best year for the "small birds". The beautiful look of the first, 1955 design, but with the kinks worked out, and extra styling panache by the boatload. From Automotive Mileposts:
"In its second year, the trend-setting Thunderbird introduced two of its most memorable and endearing styling features: the port windows (portholes) in the hard top, and the rear spare tire carrier (Continental kit).
Both of these items were introduced for practical reasons, the port windows to improve vision out of the car and the rear spare tire carrier to increase luggage space in the trunk."
This car received a body off the frame restoration, painted in its original Colonial White, perhaps the most iconic color for these great cars...the exact car that Suzanne Sommers drove in American Grafitti..for those old enough to remember.

In addition to the body off frame paint job of a rust-free Texas car, many interior and exterior trim items that showed some age were also replaced. Brand new Wire Wheel type hub caps, new correct 2 11/16th" wide white bias ply Firestone tires, and many other improvements.
