1968 Ford Mustang GT Description:

1968 Ford Mustang GT J-code Mustang coupe for sale. This car was just restored to its original build (stunning white/dark red) and ready for the next lucky owner. This car was recently picked up in Atlanta, Georgia where it was originally ordered and spent all of its history. It sports all the GT equipment that the GT option included. ( Emblems, fog lights, larger sway bar, duel outlet exhaust tips, pop open GT gas cap, "C" stripe). Marti report included.
This is a factory 4 Speed car, with what is believed to be, its original J code 302V8. Previous owner said engine was "rebuilt" but unsure what exactly was done. This car has a good operating clutch and original shifter. The drivetrain is rounded out with a Ford 9" rear end.
The restoration included new paint. Base/clear coat Wimbleton White professional paint job. A factory style "C" stripe was installed. Partial passenger floor pan replacement fitted and professionally welded in place. The rest of the floors are rust free and still show the original white paint. All new exterior chrome including new bumpers, door handles, trunk chrome, duel outlet exhaust tips, grill opening trim, fog lights, wheel opening trim, rocker panel moldings, wiper arms/blades, back up lights and gaskets. Original pop open gas cap and GT fender emblems.
Moving to the interior, the dark red carpet is new as are the kick panels, instrument bezel, lenses and dash trim. The dash pad is new, the door panels were replaced, door lock knobs and bezels, the window cranks and door pulls are all new chrome as is the turn signal arm. The door sill plates are new. The headliner is in great shape. All windows function as they should as well as all the electrical components. The doors are rock solid and were repainted dark red and new hardware installed to give them a brand new appearance. The back seat panels were painted, as were the dash and glove box door. The steering wheel was restored with new chrome inserts and dyed. The wheel itself has no cracks. The center console was repainted and cleaned.
The body panels are all original sheet metal. The undercarriage is rust free. The trunk is very clean, rust free. A metal safety plate was added behind the back seat. The car has 4 wheel drum brakes that function well. Tires have "like new" tread and are mounted on original GT styled-steel wheels.The Mustang could use new rear leaf springs at some point and the aftermarket radio has power but believe rear deck speakers are bad. Springs can be included and replaced with the Buy It Now
