Ford Econoline pickup

The story of this little red wagon.

My name is Dave and I have owned this little red wagon for around 10 years.

For 22 years I owned a company called DTS dynamometers I also collected 65 through 70 Mustangs and while retrieving a Mustang out of a barn I came across this 62 Econoline pick-up It had been sitting there for 30-some years, I wasn't interested in it much at first I just grabbed the Mustang and came home, later I thought well I should go back for the Econoline and I did.

After bringing it home with the intentions of putting a huge engine in it tubbing the rear end and making it into a little red wagon although the Little Red Wagon was a Dodge. Haha

I thought that this was just way too original to cut it up and destroy it so after I retired to Colorado Springs I started looking further into the Econoline and found it to be one of the most absolutely rust-free econolines that must be on the planet it was just too original and to rust free to destroy so I decided to restored it back to its original condition.

So for the past several years I have been restoring It back to its original condition I rebuilt the engine with a 200ci inline six with a new cylinder head HEI distributor an electric fuel pump I rebuilt the transmission and installed a new clutch pressure plate, she has new brake shoes master cylinder wheel cylinders and drums and drives as new.

All cars look like a Boyd Cottington restoration in pictures and this is not one but it is a good representation of this classic truck.

Ok I added some more photos by request and will explain that I am just putting the gas tank back in. Had it out to clean it ceramic seal the inside and paint the outside. This and the tail gate are very valuable parts that are unique to the econoline pickup only. The Tailgate was missing when I got the truck but I found a NOS one for the tune of $1K and it is on the truck. Also have the front belly pan just not on. If you ever worked on one of these it is best to pull the seats rather than work around them so that is why they are out. Last but not least is I had brand new aluminum radiator laying around so I put that in to ensure it will never overheat.

The truck sits on its normal suspension has NOT been lowered and it has the original 13" 5 Lug

(Yes five lug) steel wheels that I have had sandblasted and power coated. It has had one repaint by me and is really bone stock I have just been making it mechanically as new again after sitting 30 some years. This little truck is starting to grow on me so bid soon or I may get cold feet and just keep it.
