1970 Fiat 500L Description:

1970 Fiat Cinquecento L purchased in Massa Lubrense, Italy in March 2017. Imported to the U.S. in July 2017 and currently located in Rhode Island. Beautifully reupholstered interior. Simple, well-running motor and transmission. Abundant spare parts kit. Solid frame and exterior.
We intended to keep this car long-term and cared for it as such. However, we are taking some time to show the kids the world from a sailboat, so we need to sell this little beauty. The car runs without any problems - no issues starting, no performance degradations, and no known faults. It is a choke started, air cooled gasoline engine with a four-speed manual transmission (synchronized).
We lived in Italy for six years, and during that time we established a relationship with a good mechanic long before we contemplated purchasing a vintage Fiat. Prior to leaving Italy we had him perform as much preventive maintenance as possible to preclude any issues on this side of the Atlantic. This is a list of what Ricardo did:

When considering the purchase of a vintage, foreign make/model car, having a ready supply of spares to replace consumable parts is worth its weight in gold. Also, please note that the previous Italian owner was a huge fan of Domenico Giannini. He added an Abarth hood insignia and a slightly larger Giannini oil pan, both of which are normally found on Abarth models. I didn't convert back to original. I liked what he did and how he cared for the car.
This vehicle is in exceptional condition for being nearly 50 years old. It is meant to be driven, and it makes a perfect town or city car. Because of its size, the Fiat Cinquecento is easily trailered for those considering picking it up in person.
