1980 Ferrari 308 GTSi

1980 Ferrari 308 GTSi Description:

Very nice 1980 308 GTSi Ferrari, a "Barn Find." This iconic Ferrari was running up until approximately April 1993 when the battery died and so did the monthly spin around the block. Subsequently, she was parked under roof and sat for 22 years! In April 2015 she was pulled out of storage, spider webs removed, engine inspected, prepped, Bosch K-jetronic rebuilt, and engine run (video available), but not driven. One year later, April 2016, new timing belts were installed (video available) and engine was run again (video available). Still not driven as she obviously needs work such as; new brakes, rubber, wiring, injectors flushed out, etc., lots and lots of the normal issues for a car not driven for 22 years.
She is a great car, all complete, as restoration never done as far as I can ascertain. April 2016 she was prepped for long term storage so gas was completely drained, lines flushed with Mystery Oil, temporary fuel lines and fuel pump removed. She rolls around very easily in the shop and engine effortlessly turns over with key (she has a new battery) so that can be demonstrated. She does have dings, and even dents, all incurred while in storage. Plus the lower panels in both doors do have the typical 308 rust issue. Windows don't roll up, tires flat-spotted, pitted holes in radiator overflow tank, etc., all normal issues typical of barn finds.
I regret having to sell her but building in which she is stored has been sold. That is the only reason for this sale and she does have to go relatively quickly.
In case you are wondering....This appears to be the same model/year of a somewhat rare Ferrari that Tom Selleck drove during Season 2 and Season 3 of the 80s hit TV show Magnum PI. CBS plans to introduce a remake in the Fall of this year. I got my information about the 1980 308GTSi being used in the filming from a website dedicated to the Magnum PI series. If you google "Magnum Mania! Ferrari" you can read the same information I did. Disclaimer: I have absolutely no way to confirm/deny that this car is the actual one used in the filming of the show as I am only commenting that a fuel-injected 1980 308 GTSi is relatively rare and does appear to be the model/year used in filming. A neat bit of trivia to tell non-car enthusiasts about this particular year/model.

Note: Not sure why eBay's AutoCheck feature stated I may have entered wrong VIN number? I repeated it directly on the AutoCheck website and it does show the correct automobile. I assume because it is a 1980 there are no historical records at that time. See images.
