Description: Rare and in excellent condition, 1963 Dodge Polara 500 in its original Ivory white with a red and alabaster interior. What makes this Dodge rare is that it came from the factory with a Borg Warner T-10 4-speed behind the high performance 383 c.i. / 330 h.p. wedge motor (see fender tag photo). The 383 wedge motor was rebuilt and has less than 3,000 miles on it.

The present owner purchased the car in 2015 from an estate sale in Washington state where it had been stored for over 20 years. After the car was delivered the owner did a comprehensive inspection and made necessary upgrades where it was needed to make it a reliable and fun-to-drive vintage muscle car. See specifics below.

Overall, the Polara is very solid and appears to have had one exterior repaint. Door jams, trunk area, and engine bay are the original paint and color.

The total mileage of the car is estimated at 64,000.

The Dodge runs great and sounds good with the Flowmaster mufflers and mild aftermarket hydraulic cam.

No disappointments enjoying this Mopar.

Body & Paint:

There appears to be very little if any bodywork in the car and no evidence of cracking or bubbling. The floors and trunk area are very solid and even have original rubber body plugs.

Chrome, stainless trim, and glass are in very good condition. Windows roll up and down easily.

Exterior lights, wipers, and turn signal’s function.

Engine & Transmission:

The 383 c.i. Wedge engine has a slight over bore of 0.030”.

Compression ratio about 9.6:1 to run on pump gas.

Stock 383 heads

Mild aftermarket hydraulic camshaft (not sure of the specs).

Electronic ignition.

High torque starter

Edelbrock 600cfm carburetor

Ceramic coated 4 into 1 long tube headers.

Custom aluminum radiator and shroud.

2 ½” exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers

6 qt. oil pan with windage tray.

Borg Warner T-10 transmission with 2.20:1 first gear (from the factory).

Hurst shifter

New clutch and pressure plate

New fuel tank

New electric fuel pump.

Chassis & Differential:

8.75 rear differential with Sure-Grip 3.54:1 gears.

Power brakes (drum)

Power steering

Stock springs

15” American Torque Thrust wheels with new B.F. Goodrich radial tires measuring 215/65R – front and 255/60 – rear.

Interior:

Seats, door panels, headliner, and dash pad appear to be original. No tears or broker seams in the upholstery.

Factory gauges function

Aftermarket VDO tachometer and oil pressure gauge added.

All dash light’s function.

Late model Kenwood AM/FM/CD player.
