This is a True, VIN Verified R/T 440 Challenger. These are extremely desirable cars with the True R/T 440 Cars only playing second to the ultra rare 6-figure Hemi cars. Tasteful and well documented upgrades make for a great looking car that doesn't disappoint on the road or at the stoplight. A great combination of sheer mechanical bliss and investment.

The paint is a unique color from Mercedes called Burgundy Pearl. It has a great look with some Bronze highlights in the direct sun. The paint has a deep shine and a nice finish. There are some very subtle flames on the hood that are only visible in bright, direct sunlight. The body is straight and the panels line up well. It is a very solid car still wearing its original floor pans and frame rails. The quarters have had lower repair panels, but the car appears very solid. The grill is in excellent shape and the bright trim all looks very nice.

Inside the interior looks great with a nice mix of vintage with just a touch of pro touring thanks to the upgraded brushed aluminum instrument cluster and door panel trims. New black seat upholstery, carpet and headliner were installed. The door panels were painted in a textured black paint along with the other original plastic interior components. The interior looks nice and the seats feel great. The aftermarket gauges work excellent and are a huge improvement in accuracy over the factory gauges.

Under the hood the 440 has been well massaged with Edelbrock Performer RPM Cylinder Heads (ported & polished), Holley Street Dominator Aluminum Intake, Holley 800cfm Double Pumper Carburetor, Comp 224/230 @ .050 & 110 lobe separation camshaft, Forged TRW Pistons, Sealed Power Rings, Sealed Power High Volume Oil Pump, ARP Rod & Head Bolts and more. The engine comes with an assembly sheet showing clearances. Compression is 11 to 1 with the valve overlap and aluminum heads this one runs just fine on 92 but would really like 100 octane fuel. The reciprocation assembly was balanced as well. Breathing through 2" TTI Primary Tube Headers this 440 sounds very good. The cam gives a nice lope the idle, not too big and not too small. Kind of a Goldilocks cam. Power obviously is very good and plenty to get you into trouble should you choose. The Edelbrock Performer RPM Nitrous System has been installed but will need to be filled as it has not been used yet. We would highly recommend a good dyno tune prior to use to avoid engine damage.

The engine drive system is from March and includes under-drive pulleys and a custom power steering pump. The system looks great and the under-drive pulleys save about 15 horsepower too. Part of this system uses a solid mount to the frame to save motor mounts from breaking under the combination of a hard hitting 440 and the 150 extra horsepower nitrous kit. You do notice some vibrations from the engine inside the car in certain situations.

To keep that big engine cool a new Radiator from Summit Racing was installed along with a high volume water pump. The engine runs cool even in the summer heat. We just drove it in 85' summer heat with no signs of warming over 185.

The 727 Automatic Transmission has been upgraded with a shift kit and what feels like a 2500 rpm stall kit. The trans goes into gear quickly and very positively. To keep things cool a remote cooler has been installed.

The leaky factory steering box was just replaced with a new unit from Redhead steering. The steering is crisp on responsive with just the right amount of assist and feedback. Out back the springs were replaced with new 6 leaf units. The car handles surprisingly well thanks to the weight reduction of the aluminum top end on the 440 and moving the battery back to the trunk. This car will really surprise you in the corners.

The 8 3/4" rear differential has been fitted with 3.91 gearing. It is a Sure-Grip set up that has no problems spinning both Massive 285 Goodyear Super Car Tires.

The wheels are the Rambler series from US Mag. The front tires are 235 45 17's on 17 x 8" wheels while the rears are 285 40 18's on 18 x 9" wheels.

Currently this car does not have an emergency brake. The brackets are still in the frame and floorpans as well as backing plates.
