1971 Demon with small block v8. Was manual.
1971 Dodge Dart Demon Description:
1971 Demon. 318. California plates with current tags, and clean title. Fires right up, runs-drives-and stops! Was a factory 3 speed manual on the column, but now has a automatic 904 with a B&M shifter mounted on a 4 speed hump. Still has the manual bracket and brake pedal. Missing the clutch pedal.The stock motor runs fine. No smoke or lifter noise. Has a new water pump, and rebuilt starter. 26'' Radiator with shroud and 7 blade fan. New dual exhaust and mufflers. New drive-line and u-joints. Factory manual steering and brakes.No rips or tears in the bucket seats or in the cloth black rear seat. Has a 8-3/4 rear with 11" drums. A few dings and dents, but very solid. Some body work was started years ago by previous owner, with installing patch panels from a donor, in the lower quarters, but will still need to have some detail work. Also has the right door, fender and hood, from that same donor. A newmetalspare-tire well was installed in the trunk.Frame rails are all solid, no rust. The left front frame rail looks to have been torn from hitting something or had a tow hook rip it a bit. Needs tlc here and there, but there's no bondo or cancerousrust. Was sprayed flat black to have a cleaner look and to coat some of the bare metal from the previous owner sanding. Body doesn't have any blisters or bubbles. The grill, bumper and valance are nice. All the body glass rails are solid with all the trim clips.Glass is all original and in good shape, but could use a new windshield, due to a small crack in the corner. The front windows roll up and down easily, and back coupe windows pop out and latch. Needs to have the lighting wiring and dash harness hooked up. Gas tank is clean, but will need another tank strap. (only has one holding tank in place). Included is another complete dash, with nice wiring harness out of a Dart 340 car. (still has vin). I planned to use the decent black dash pad and the plastic dash heater registers. Also has a original Radio. All the headliner bows, seat belts, including the shoulder strap, both sun visors, all the window trim, headlight buckets with bulb ring, all there and in good shape. 14'' tires are like new.Door hinge pins are excellent, no slop, but the drivers door latch sticks a bit. Hood scoops are mounted in the factory location on the hood. Does not have the intake hole drilled though yet. Also have a complete and correct power brake setup, along with a pair of extra fenders that are in great shape. This is a rare A-body, and only made for 2 years. With the 2018 Dodge Demon about to arrive, these '71 and '72 originals will always be in the top of Mopar collectibles.I can return calls after 3pm M-F. Available 7am-9pm on weekend. Pacific time.
