1974 Datsun Z-Series A/C manual Description:
People love to find a "barn find". Why I like a "garage find" better.... The car doesn't have rats and mice living in it for one thing. It doesn't smell like a barn and usually has usually been well taken care of but just put away and forgotten.This Z was discovered abandoned in a garage in AZ. A real estate agent discovered the Z in the garage and was able to get the car with the house. It appears the owner spent a lot of money and time restoring this Z. New paint, new rubber and seals, carpet kit, new carbs, new radiator, possibly new chrome bumpers, new dash (not a dash cover), new center console and more. This all was done probably 5-6 years ago. Maybe longer.
I bought the car in Chandler AZ from the real estate agent. It had gas that had been sitting in tank for years but the rest of the car was in remarkably good condition. Best of all there was absolutely no rust with exception of some minor surface rust on exhaust system. I changed out the gas, gas pump, gas filter, rubber gas lines and added Sea Foam in tank with premium gas for good measure and put on a set of new radial tires. The Hitachi carbs are new or were totally rebuilt. The head was removed and a valve job was done due to a couple of valves that were not seating correctly. Hoses that needed replacing were replaced, stock hose clamps or reproduction wire clamps were used on most hoses. I pulled the stock exhaust manifold and replaced with 3 into 2 headers and the stock smog pump was removed.
This Z runs strong, shifts great, brakes work fantastic and no rattles or unusual noises. Its ready for a road trip!

All removed stock items come with the car.
If you are looking for a near show quality Z that can be driven on weekends without any problems this may be the car for you. No rust, no apparent body repair and feels and drives like a 260z in 1974.

I wanted to point out the hole in the floor on passenger side as shown in last photo is not from rust. There is a rubber grommet that is usually there but the underside hit something and created the damage. No rust, easy to repair.
Also please ask if you want more photos, I have taken lots with attention to typical rust areas. This car is truly a rust free car other than surface rust on exhaust pipes and muffler.
I posted the ad and neglected to go over items that work and a few that don't. It is my intention to be completely transparent with all of my communications. Here is a list as best as I can tell on the condition of systems in the car. If you have questions I am happy to answer them.

The head lights are now properly working. There was apparently a small bit of corrosion on dimmer stalk / switch on steering hub. I cleaned connections and high and low beams are working.
The choke cable is adjusted and now the "Choke on " light goes off when cable choke is off.
