1968 Chrysler Newport Convertible Sportgrain Package RARE L@@K NR!!!!

1968 Chrysler Newport Description:

We have this rare Newport Convertible to offer this week. We just took it in on traded. This car has not been driven much since 2014. It's finished in a burgundy with a white top and black vinyl interior. The spring of 1968 brought the interesting $126 "Sports Grain" option. This was a unique form of wagon-type simulated-wood side paneling. They only built 175 Newport convertibles with this option. Quite the rare car.

The exterior is decent/fair condition. The paint is bright but a hazy and faded in some areas. The car has been repainted in the past. It started life as a gold car. It has some scratches and paint chips. The rear quarters have some rust and rot. It has some rust as pictured. There are no dents. The trunk jam and firewall has some rot as shown. The chrome is pretty good for a driver but has some ptting. The undercarriage looks pretty good but does have some areas of rot. We did our best to show you what we could see. The missing pece of trim on the left side is in the trunk.

The convertible top is worn and has some tears as shown. Top works great.

The interior is in ok condtion. The rear seat has some tears. The front seat is worn and has some tears. The door panels look pretty good. The dash pad has cracks.Some seat covers would work miracles.

This Chrysler has power brakes and steering. A pretty basic Newport.

The tires are old and need replacing.

The heater works. The radio and dash lights don't.

It's equipped with the powerful 383 V8. This car runs and drivers pretty good. It shifts as it should. The brakes feel ok. The exhaust is loud. Seems to be leaking near the front. The car shows 166K miles but the title reads 191K miles. I believe that he bought the car with 91K miles and an error was made. This car is a 1968 that has been sitting for a while. This car should be serviced before being driven. If you are not local bring a trailor. This car needs total restoration. Bring a trailor and take home this rare Chrysler convertible
