1964 Chevrolet Suburban custom Description:

this is a 1/2 ton, 2 wheel drive, with the original 283 ci v8, and 4 speed granny gear trans. odometer is at 18,000, (original Oregon title said 118,000). When I bought it, the original front sheet metal had already been swapped, and the front suspension crossmember had been hit hard by something, frame rails are good though. I used a 77 1/2 ton chevy crossmember, to replace the smashed original, but retained the drum brake 6 lug spindles. New steering parts were used during installation(tie rod ends, ball joints, idler arm, manual steering gear box). New front and rear brakes were installed(drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, rubber lines, rear hard lines). New 2" front, and 3" rear lowering springs, new track bar bushings, and an alignment. Original gas tank was rusted through, so a new, 1970 suburban style tank was added, along with a new fuel pump, Edelbrock 1406 carburetor, and a used edelbrock rpm manifold. The engine was pulled during crossmember swap, so a new clutch and pressure plate assembly was used, and flywheel was turned. Used Hooker competition headers, and a new duel 2 1/4" exhaust, with flowmaster mufflers, that exit behind rear tire. The engine runs very well, and burns no oil. New water pump, heater core, and radiator. New rear tail light lenses,, new front park lamp lenses, new wire harness from firewall to park lamps, new turn signal switch. All lights and blinkers work. New heater cables, levers, and defrost hoses. New ignition switch and gas gauge. All instruments, horn, heater and lights in dash work. Original middle seat is in it, but the front seat is from a p.u. of the same era, and does not flip forward. All glass is good, but rubber seals are rotted. Front floors are rusty, along with rockers, upper windshield area(wich I have a donor replacment for), upper driver door jamb(also have donor patch for), driver side lower quarter panel, and lower middle tail gate. Pictures of these areas are shown. No frame rust issues. The title is clear, but some one cut the rust out of the upper door jamb, and didn't keep the vin tag, so the vin inspector used the serial number on the frame to verify, and installed a new vin tag, so I had to title it as a builder. The truck runs and drives very well, but the pinion seal went out, so no gear oil in the differntial. I was going to install the rest of the 77 1/2 ton 5 lug parts on it(disc brakes, power steering, rear axle), and the parts are included, but I have another project I could use money for, so time for this one to go.
here is a video of it running, just copy and paste it and it should take you to the video. youtube/ v=Oxyk_3zESiY
