1957 Corvette Replica Resto-Mod

Convertible BODY TYPE
L-98 Tune Port Injection ENGINE
Gasoline FUEL

1957 Chevrolet Corvette Description:

This car is equipped with an 1988 Corvette L 98 tuned port injection engine, 700 R 4 automatic transmission, C -4 Suspension, coil-over shocks, air conditioning, AM / FM / MP3 radio (that looks like the original), power rack & pinion steering, power 4 wheel disc brakes, independent front & rear suspension, power windows, power door locks, power lumbar reclining seats, & tilt / tele wheel.

I used an aftermarket body from Antique & Collectable Cars and purchased their frame that was set up for C -4 Suspension front & rear. The frame and rear suspension were narrowed to allow everything to fit without using wider fenders.

All components were inspected and reconditioned as required to assure years of trouble-free driving.

All running gear including the steering column is 1988 Corvette, so the car is all Corvette, just not all 1957 Corvette. The brakes have been checked and the master cylinder replaced with a new unit (not a rebuild)

The hard top has been rebuilt with tinted windows to help the air conditioner do its job better.

The car runs great and I would jump in it today and head for Florida. I have drivenit often in nice weather and have over 6600 miles on it. It is not a show car but is a perfect driver and gets 17.6 MPG around town and over 26 MPG on the road.

I built this complete car myself and have the documented build pictures and description of the work done on my Flickr photo page just look for buick53fan as Ebay won't allow us to put a link on here. The build is also on a book available from Amazon shown in one of the pictures.

When installing the hood, after doing it many times before it was painted, it fell and made a small chip in the front panel it doesn't show up that much so I never bothered to fix it. There also are some small chips normal from use.

For someone to have this car built would cost over $125,000 and my reserve is less than 1/3rd the cost of the parts only not counting any of the many hours spent doing the work.

That should read 2/3rds cost of parts

If anyone is concerned about overbidding even though my reserve price has been met I am still in the position of paying someone over $18,000.00 to work on their car for over 2 years.I was really hoping to get close to my parts cost and the labor is always free with one of these projects.
