1961 Chevrolet C-10 Apache 10 Description:

A diamond in the rough.1961 Chevrolet Apache 10 short bed Stepside Pickup. Found in a barn stored for years. Previous owner installed a new gas tank, fuel lines, flushed out the carburetor installed the battery, and a new tune up kit. She fired right off. So he installed a rebuilt master cylinder, brake lines, wheel cylinders, and drums and shoes. She sits on older tires but drives great for her age. Starts up everytime,shifts through all the gears and stops great. She is all original right down to the hubcaps and the 1961 Apache Hood which are very rare and hard-to-find if you can find one at all. The lower left and right front fenders have a fiberglass patch repair about 4 to 5 inches high. NADA and Haggerty value this truck at $74,000 in Concourse condition. Today, 12.31.2019, I fired her right up. Check the horn, she blows. Checked the radio, she plays. Tried the heater blower switch again, no luck. Could be a fuse, or a faulty wire. I will check more into this tomorrow. The original seat belts are under the seat. I was looking for the jack, sometime they put under the engine hood near the fender. The wood in the bed seems real solid. There is only surface rust on the under side as seen by the single picture.
This truck has great bones with plenty of room to make her yours. I know the carb needs rebuilt. New gaskets under the carb would be nice to stop the vacuum leak. A valve adjustment would really help too. I might get to that tomorrow checking the gap, and checking the timing and points gap. I just know I can get her to run way better.
If it was not frozen out here in Nebraska, I would give her a pressure wash and get some grime off her. But, I wanted you to see her at her worst, dirty little girl. Maybe that should be her name: "Dirty Little Girl"
