1968 Chevrolet C-10 Description:

This 1968 Chevrolet C-10 Half Ton Two Wheel Drive step-side pickup, VIN CE148Z137575, is in remarkably good condition for its age. Just completing a trip from Olympia, Washington to Great Falls, Montana, it is proven dependable and used either no or almost no oil on this trip, nor does it leak oil or other fluids, nor does it overheat although it runs warm enough, as it should,to properly operate the heater and defroster. Equipped with a V-8 engine...probably a 327 but possibly changed to something else....it has a heavy duty 4-speed transmission, armstrong steering and manual brakes. It came with a manual choke which functions perfectly. Cold morning starts are simple, immediate, and easy! The brakes and tires are excellent as is all of the glass. The original seat is split open where the driver sits but the rest of it is excellent and original, too. This pickup still has its original rubber floor mat, its original vinyl dash, both of its original arm rests, and all of its control knobs and levers except for the heater blower lever which is replaced with a toggle switch and works as it should. This pickup has minor rust in front of one fender, in the bottom of one door sill (an area about the size of a half dollar) and probably more that I can't see; in any case it's pretty solid every where else. It has numerous minor scratches, scrapes, dents and dings...some people call this "patina." The best part is that it starts up easily, runs smoothly, doesn't smoke or leak, makes no unusual noises, and goes down the road straight and true. It's geared pretty low and drives most comfortably about 65 miles per hour. The heat and amp gauge both work properly, the oil pressure gauge works sporadically, and the speedometer and odometer work correctly. This pickup's odometer registers 88,xxx miles. I have no idea or proof whether or not this mileage is accurate but bet that it is. The lights, brake lights, signal lights and dash lights all work. I can't get the spot light to work but don't know where its off-on switch is. If you're looking for an old pickup like this to drive or to restore you'll look long and hard to find one so solid and driveable in this price range.
