Here is your opportunity to own the "HOLY GRAIL" of the Chevrolet Muscle Car Era.
1970 CHEVELLE SS 454 LS6 4 SPEED!
This car rolled off the Baltimore Assembly Plant in April of 1970. From all accounts of previous information, it was turned into a Street/Race car sometime in the late 70’s early 80’s.It was parked in a warehouse since the early 90’s and hasn’t moved until recently being acquired thru means of an Estate Sale.Unfortunately the Original Drivetrain has been replaced.
NCRS Shipping Data Report shows an Official Production date of 04/10/1970
Delivery Dealer was Muller Chevrolet in Matawan, New Jersey
Dealer Code 244 in Zone 35
I have been around Chevelle’s most of my life and Currently have 3 Documented LS6 Cars in the Family.I DO NOT have a Build Sheet on this car to Prove it by means of Documentation but haven’t a chance to take it all apart to go treasure hunting. From my knowledge of these cars, Trim Tag, and the “Tell Tale” signs… some of the potential options/details believed to be ordered with when new are the following over and above the Standard SS Package:
04B – April 2nd week build Date of 1970
Paint Code 48 – Forest Green Upper and Lower
Trim Code – 796 Dark Green Bucket Seat Interior
“B D” on Trim Tag – Some historical data and up for debate has is it on all True SS cars and even further Indicates that all Baltimore LS6 cars have both the B and the D.
LS6 454 450hp
M22 4 Speed
CRV – 3.31 Posi Rear
U14 - Gauge Package with “983” 6500 Redline Tachometer
U79 – AM/FM Stereo Equipment
AQ2 – VERY RARE - Electric Seat Back Release – Current Data shows Only 663 Total cars with this Option
Manual Steering
Current Condition of the Car is as follows:
DRIVETRAIN
1965 – 396 Engine w/ 074 Open Chamber Rectangular Port Winters Aluminum Heads and Old School Fender Well Headers
Turbo 400 - JW Reverse Manual Valve Body, Trans Brake, and High Stall Converter
VERY RARE – CODE KK 1969 Chevelle factory 4.10 Posi 12 Bolt Rear. With Ladder Bars
Full MSD Electronics with 2 step, Rev Limiter, and Control Box
It Runs Strong, Drives, and with a little updating of Seat Belts and some more TLC it’s Race Ready...My Plans were to take it back to Stock but space and efforts needed on my other LS6 car is taking priority. The Tires/Slicks were dry rotted and wouldn’t hold are So I have put new ones on along with a Master Cylinder, Alternator, Battery, Mini Starter, and Water pump.
BODY/INTERIOR
The Original Forest Green was repainted and currently in Yellow... Body has its share of dings, dents throughout and rust in the usual Chevelle places. Quarter panel wheel lips were trimmed to fit the larger Slicks. Floors are Decent, Trunk pan needs replaced.Has a new reproduction Cowl Induction Hood, Flapper, Trunk lid, and Fender extensions. As a Bidder I would assume the car needs its share of Metal/Body Work and Restoration from front to back. Interior is Clean, missing back seat. Still has the Original LS6 tachometer. Has Hurst Quart Stick Shifter.
SUMMARY
Keep in mind this is a restoration project car that currently Runs and Drives but has been sitting for 20+ years. You can give it some more attention and drive as is like a “Day 2” LOL or what I was going to do was to take it down to the frame and start over.If your serious or have any additional questions call me@7722841169 prior to bidding. I have some videos of it running I can also send.
Again, my plan was to bring it back to an original state and not real motivated to let it go however my other Matching # car needs the attention right now. I also have a December LS6 Code CRV 3:31 Posi rear available for an additional cost.If you happen to know of this car, have its original drive-train, (wishful thinking) or its prior history please reach out to me. It has been in the South Florida Area and Raced in Palm Beach.
Car is currently located in Ocala Florida and Can be seen in person. It is being sold “As Is” with NO Refunds or Warranty. Will assist in shipping/transportation at the buyer’s expense. It is also listed locally.
