1969 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible

1969 Chevrolet Chevelle Description:

You are bidding on a 1969 Lemans blue Malibu Chevelle Convertible. The car has been kept in dry storage for the past eight years and has not been driven. The Chevelle had been refreshed in the late 1990s which included new paint, rebuilt engine and new interior. The car is solid and straight and runs and drives. Everything appears to be in working order but some components may need refreshing or replacing. The floor pans are in good condition with some minor patching done as seen in photos. Both rear quarter panels have been replaced. The rocker panels are solid as well as the fenders and doors. The chrome and stainless moldings are in good presentable condition. I am including brand new side molding trim and new three piece trunk pan purchased from Original Parts Group, Inc. This is a nonmatching numbers vehicle. The paint is in very good condition with the exception of minor scratches and paint dings. There are some paint chips along the driver's side front door edge. The glass is in good condition with one very small stone chip in the windshield. The black interior is in very good condition except for a one-inch tear on the back of the front bench seat and the rear backrest needs to be repadded. The manual convertible top has no holes or tears but shows wear, however the top pads need replacing. The top boot is in good condition as well as the rear glass window. The nonoriginal 327 motor according to the block reads 3914678 is out of a 1968-1969 Camaro/and high performance applications. The heads are clean and appear to be Fuelie heads with roller rockers shown in photos. The engine runs strong and does not smoke. The transmission is a two speed powerglide and has a 12 bolt posi rear end. It has factory power steering and four wheel drum brakes. The original jack and tools are included. This Chevelle also has a SS hood and 15 inch rally wheels.
To the best of my knowledge, due to the car sitting for approx. eight years, the car needs a good going over and may need maintenance or replacing of the entire brake system, fuel system, exhaust system and carburetor, heater core and fuel gauge. The odometer shows 40,060 miles but actual miles are unknown.
Again, this car has been mostly idle and needs some time and minor restoration to be completely road worthy. Given some TLC this car would be an excellent driver or great candidate for a total restoration which unfortunately I am unable to do at this time. The car is available for inspection throughout the auction. Buyer is responsible for pick up within two weeks. The car is being sold AS-IS and needs transporting due to car sitting for so long.
