1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo -- Description:

Back in Black and looking good dressed up in plenty of chrome. This car is the last of the first-gen Monte Carlos which was just before the new bumper regs kicked in for '73. Try not to bump into anyone with this beautiful car, at least not over 5mph, and you should be fine. Check it out. The stylists at Chevrolet did a great job with this car. First, they gave it a long hood and muscular... fenders. The upper edge of those fenders cuts a crisp, clean line from front to rear with a shadow crease in the body running just below it. Nice. That long hood catches the light and reflects it back nicely as you drive down the boulevard and then flows down over a blacked-out grill with a red Knights Crest badge in the center. Vertical marker lights echo that crest and the headlights have blacked out bezels. Underline all that with a sharp looking chrome bumper and it creates a pretty dramatic looking front end. A black vinyl roof is a classy touch on this car and provides a nice compliment to the paint as is slopes down toward the trunk. Chrome dresses out the wheel wells as well as the rocker panels and the back end looks sharp too in another nice-looking chrome bumper with dual exhaust tips peeking out from under it. Open up the door and you will find a great looking Black interior. The door panel is stitched in rectangular sections with buttons in the center and a door pull along the top. A beefy steering wheel mounted on a 4-spoke polished hub feels good in your hands. Behind it is a stock dashboard with a clean upper dash pad that has no cracks in it. Auxiliary gauges are mounted below the dash to accurately monitor critical engine functions like water temp, oil pressure and charging voltage. Ventilation controls include those for the r-134 updated A/C system and a horseshoe shifter for the automatic transmission is mounted in the wood grained center console between the front bucket seats. Those buckets are trimmed in black vinyl with pleated centers sections and smooth side bolsters. The carpeting looks brand new and ties the look of this interior together nicely. Pop the hood on this car and you will find a healthy 454 cubic inch motor nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. It is dressed up to match the outside of the car in more ways than one. It backs up the muscular looking fenders with real muscle under the hood. It also keeps the black and chrome theme going with black inner fenders complimented by big chrome valve covers as well as a chrome intake manifold and a free flow air filter trimmed in the shiny stuff. That air filter feeds a Holley 4-barrel carburetor, flows through an Edelbrock intake, and Edelbrock is embossed into those chrome valve covers. Long tube headers get the spent gasses out and flowing back toward dual Flowmaster mufflers and then those chrome tips peeking out at the rear. Power front disc brakes provide good stopping power and the rubber meets the road through 255/60R15 white lettered tires mounted on steel wheels with chrome trim rings and center caps. Crisp, clean styling in Black and Chrome. This is a really sharp looking car. Come on down and check it out. Then take it home and head out for some adventures with it.
