1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Description:

1970 Chevelle SS396 project. True SS car. No engine or transmission. Will need complete restoration. Has extensive rust at base of windshield and cowl, and around rear window opening, most likely due to sitting outside with tree debris accumulations (e.g., needles and leaves) in those areas.Donor cowl section included with car to make the repairs in the front.This is a Northwest car, so it has not been in road salt as evidenced by the clean frame and underbody. In my opinion, the floors and trunk are fairly solid, and will not need full replacement. The trunk weatherstrip gutter will need repair in several areas. The driver's quarter will definitely need replacement. The passenger quarter could be saved.
Small build sheet remnant found on top of gas tank (still attached to tank) verifying car originally came with 350hp 396. This is a real SS car, and if you know what to pay attention to on an unrestored body, all those clues are consistent with it being an SS and not a Malibu. No other documentation available. Other options included factory AC, tach and gauges, and tilt wheel. Factory color of code 14 Cortez Silver with black bench seat interior and column shift. 12 bolt axle was replaced with 10 bolt. Still has disc brakes on front, less calipers. Dash housing is out of a 1972 model and was installed by me since car had no dash. Car has all working locks with keys. No wiring included with car. Clear Washington title in the name of a previous owner, signed off and undated by that previous owner. I purchased this car 7 years ago from another owner who did not title the car in his name. Just to be clear - the car is not titled in my name, so do not bid if this is an issue for you.
