You are looking at a very special truck. This is the last year for the iconic body style that Chevy enthusiasts seem to agree was the best the brand ever produced. The 72 model is arguably the most stylish pick up ever built, and this short bed truck features even option available that year. Truly a "luxury pick-up" that spent most of its time in climate controlled storage here in California.
A few custom touches were added to set this one apart from the rest, let's start inside the truck. First you will notice the OEM buddy seats. Once you go buddy seat, you'll never go back. Storage is the first benefit, then there is the ability to rest your arm when the center seat back reclines forward. You also have the option to lay your arm across the top like a bench, something the bucket seat option prevents you from doing. Truly the best seating configuration. These seats are 10 out of 10. Perfect upholstery, perfect foam, and OEM GM belts for you and two passengers. The headliner is also perfect, the carpet....10 out of 10. I believe the interior to be better than showroom. Another upgrade is the OEM GM tilt column that happens to be chromed. It's a stylish addition to the cab, and the Camaro steering wheel is the finishing touch. The wooden halo compliments the wood trim features that come with the Cheyenne Super package. The rest of the cab is just as it should be. Factory AC, AM/FM radio (not currently working but was recently), functioning tach and vacuum guage, and even a fully functional over speed warning buzzer. The glass, rubber and felt are all perfect. Dash is perfect. There is absolutely nothing that was overlooked in the cab.
The exterior of the truck stops people in their tracks. The blue hits the sun and cannot be beat. The video does a decent job displaying this if you choose HD format. The truck was taken down to bare metal and professionally painted with a base/clear that goes deep. Zero rust. It's a pleasure to wipe down and the subtle metallic really pops. The trim is all original from what I can tell, the wood grain detail on the trim is not perfect but not anything I would even consider giving attention to. The chrome is all perfect, this is a show winning truck that can drive anywhere. There are several trim pieces that were chromed including door striker plates and hood latches. Subtle details that set her apart from the rest. The bed is perfect, all of the snaps for tonneau are perfect and the tonneau itself is flawless. FYI the pics on this ad were BEFORE the truck was even polished.
The stance is a bit lower than stock. Early Classics drop spindles up front and Early Classics powder coated trailing arms and cross member in the rear put her at just the right altitude. Most of the front end suspension components are powder coated and all bushings, rubber and hardware are proper. The undercarriage is beautiful, and when cleaned up is worthy of mirrors at a car show. The running gear all works great and this is an extremely reliable daily driver. The 350 was rebuilt less than 150 miles ago, and doesn't leak or smoke. Most old V8s mark their territory, my garage floor is clean as a whistle. The intake and carb were upgraded for reliability, and the dual exhaust presents just the right notes, at least in my opinion.
The only flaw is the door locks are a bit lazy, I haven't got to sorting them out. They both are on the same key as ignition and I just never got to it. Thats it, that's the only thing I would say needs attention, and the radio if you want to update. the AC will be due for a recharge soon, everything works fine though. She has great road manners and I would drive anywhere. Bid with confidence, this one is special.
