1964 Chevrolet Impala SS 409 Description:

1964 Impala SS 409 4 Speed, 425 Horsepower, dual quads, Runs and drives very nice. The motor casting number is 3788068. It appears to have the correct carbs, linkage, air cleaner, etc, but I am not a 409 expert. It has a very nice interior in original materials. The paint is very nice but not perfect, nice radial tires, I do not see any rust issues under the car or in the trunk. It is priced to sell, and I believe it could be driven anywhere, but it is 53 years old. I will pick you up at the Austin airport if you wish to fly in and drive it home. It could use some minor things fixed like a plastic headlight adjuster has let go, a couple screws in the front hood trim are missing, reverse lockout on the original shifter needs a spring, It has an aftermarket underdash stereo that I would remove, the rear speaker grills are too modern lookin, etc. nothing serious. I can recommend a good shipper if you need help with shipping, and it will be kept inside under cover until it is picked up. I can be reached at five one two, seven eight four, three six five nine. In the unlikely event that it does not meet reserve, I will try to work with the high bidder.I have been told the block is a 62 casting, and I have been told that it could be original to the car, and I have been told that it may not be. The casting number is 3788068. Consult with your own experts to make this determination. The intake manifold casting number is 3814881, which I am told is again a 62 casting but was used in 62 through 64. I have added pictures of the carbs, I cant make out the numbers on the rear carb as the front carb is in the way, but the front carb number has been verified correct and the rear sure looks correct. The front carb does not have a choke. The stamped number on the front of the block is TI208QB, which I am told is a Dual Quad, manual transmission passenger car from 1962 through 1964. The car VIN number is 41447S314594, which I am told the 14 represents Impala SS 2dht. Again, I am no expert, but posting a car on ebay sure will bring the experts out of the woods. These are the numbers, I make no representation to what they mean, only that they are clear and legible. Do your own research. This is a nice looking, nice running and driving genuine Impala SS with the 425 Horsepower Dual Quad 409 4 speed, the one the Beach Boys sang about. This car is priced to sell. I need to pay my plumber and drywaller, Shop around, this is a deal. How many cars have a hit song written about them? I hate to have to add this paragraph, but this car is being relisted due to the deadbeat high bidder, Bennie Fulford from Middlesex, N.C did not call, would not take calls or answer emails. Why would anyone bid on, let alone buy a car that they either do not have the ability to buy, or do not intend to buy?? Feebay is not a game, it is a serious auction. If you need entertainment, buy a tv, if you have to have permission from someone to make a major purchase, do so ahead of time, if you don't have the money, don't bid, if you need to sell your house to buy this, sell your house before bidding. My recent experiences selling, or I should say attempting to sell on feebay have not been so good. listing vehicles on feebay is expensive and time consuming, If you are not going to follow through and pay for it, please go yank someone else's chain. If you have EVER had an unpaid item, you will be blocked from this auction, unless you pick up the phone and call and have a very good excuse. If you have less than 20 positive feedback, call me at five one two, seven eight four, three six five nine before bidding. I am a retired collector, and I am a licensed Texas Dealer, I have been selling old cars and motorcycles to happy buyers all over the world for over 30 years. Texas residents will have to pay tax, title, and license fees, unless they are a dealer, and out of state buyers will pay T,T, in their home state. I do not charge any "doc fee, processing fee ", or any other bs charge for buying a car. I think it is a bit squirrelly and deceiving to charge someone an extra fee for buying something, why not just raise the price of it that amount?
