1968 Chevrolet Impala Description:

If you've been looking for an original, unmolested, Impala with good pedigree and adult owner heritage then your search ends here. This car retains 100% of its factory original Tripoli Turquoise/Ermine White paint combo.Yes it has some chips, yes it has some dents & dings and yes it has some imperfections too, but in today's world today it's called Patina and I get to charge extra for it.Ok, just kidding! .....sort of. But seriously though, its getting difficult to find a 51 year old car that presents this well. This is an excellent example of what classic car dealerships so liberally like to call "Barn Finds" so they can put an overinflated price tag on them even though they know very little personal history of the cars they sell.

This car is equipped with the following factory options;

*275HP 327 (RPO L30)

*TH400 (RPO M40)

*Power Steering (RPO N40)

*Tinted glass (RPO AO1)

*Deluxe Seatbelts (RPO A39)

*Electric clock (RPO U35)

*Pushbutton AM radio (RPO U63)

*Luggage Compartment Lamp (RPO U25)

*Glove Compartment Lamp (RPO U26)

I am a longtime fourth Gen Impala fan and this 68 is one of many Impala's I own. This particular 1968 Impala 4dr Sedan was purchased very late in the model year on November 25th, 1968 by Vernon Olson at University Chevrolet in Seattle, Washington, which still stands today at the same location. The car has remained right here in the Pacific Northwest its entire life.I have the original keys, Protect-O-Plate, owner's manual, protective sleeve and a stack of original vehicle registrations through 1989 in Vernon's name.

This car has been maintained mechanically very well.In fact it has had over $2,000 in brake and suspension work done at Les Schwab less than 1,000 miles ago.The car rides incredibly smooth and the power steering responds instantaneously with very little steering input. No wandering or unexpected "death defying thrill ride" will be experienced while piloting this boulevard cruiser. It is safe for the whole family.Although the brakes are manual, they are on point. All new wheel cylinders, shoes, rubber lines, drums, master cylinder etc. Also installed by Les Schwab is four new Hankook radial tires in addition to a new matching spare in the trunk.(I have all the receipts for this work)The optional TH400 shifts smoothly and firmly as it should. The car cruises effortlessly at 80MPH.No squeaking, knocking, smoking, rattling, etc.Just pure driving pleasure the way The General intended.

Back to the original paint. It has some really great original luster to the GM "Magic Mirror" finish and if someone who is comfortable with a buffer could spend an afternoon with it, I'm sure they could make it look even better. As noted it has some imperfections, but the overall appearance of the car far outshines any flaws. Both front fenders and both rear quarters have very isolated and contained cancer spots at the very bottom, as seen in the pics. There is no other cancer in the car at all.The floors are impeccable, as is the trunk.(The trunk does have four small 1/4 " holes that someone drilled to mount something but they are barely visible)We do not use salt on the roads in Washington State, thus this limited rust was caused purely by GM's failed "Flush and dry" rocker panels.

Taking a look under the hood you'll note most non wearing factory equipment is still installed. Even the spring ring battery cables are intact. That's the good thing about 4drs, is that they simply weren't mistreated like their 2dr brethren. The entire drivetrain is factory original including the (Yes, numbers matching) 250HP 327.The original Quadrajet was also rebuilt and the choke pull off functions correctly. After sitting for a few months simply pump the gas a couple/three times and it starts right up.It has plenty of power if you prefer to travel in the fast lane, which is where I drive it. No lag, just that familiar Quadrajet WHOOOOOOAAAAH! when you mash the accelerator to the floor. (I know you're making that sound right now!)

Stepping inside please take the time to enjoy that beautiful interior.I spent a small fortune on N.O.S. cloth repairing the torn front seat fabric.I also put a carpet kit in it simply due to the original was so filthy it detracted from the perfection of the rest of the interior. The dash panel and dash pad are remarkable as you can see. No holes drilled, no scratched up speedo lens, no modified stereo, etc.It is what most people would define as mint, and I concur. The flawless condition of the steering wheel speaks volumes of how well this care was cared for. All four door panels and the headliner are perfect as well. Other than the worn windlace and warped package tray, the whole interior is pretty much impeccable and it is 100% original, sans the carpet and N.O.S. cloth.

Looking at the brightwork, you'll notice the grill is flawless, yes even the lower grill.Considering the grill is only slightly stronger than a pop can it is in truly remarkable shape. The lower valance retains its original matte gray finish. The chrome on the front and rear bumpers are also astonishing with only a few scratches on the front one.Other than the AM radio & clock, everything works on the car.All turn signals, brake lights, back up lights, hazard flashers, fuel gauge, dome light, idiot lights, glove box lamp, window cranks, trunk light, TH400 kickdown solenoid, door jam switches, heater blower motor, etc. function as they should. This is a turnkey, get in and go (and show) Impala available at blue collar pricing. It needs nothing!Trust me, this car steals just as much attention as a red Chevelle with shiny wheels everywhere I take it.I don't dare stop for gas unless I have fifteen minutes to spare because store patrons and even employees inevitably come outside and start asking questions and taking pics.

So to re-cap, you are bidding (That's your que to hit the bid button) on an all original paint, with a beautiful matching turquoise interior, original drivetrain, get in and go, needs nothing, 68 Impala. It has a gentle 105k miles on it, with plenty of life left. This is a private party sale.I am selling from my own collection, not a "friend of a friend”. I am a long time 100% feedback e-bay seller who has bought and sold several collector cars on e-bay and I have shipped them to Australia, Saudi Arabia, The Netherlands and all over the U.S. I am very familiar with the process and I am here to help.If you want specific pics and/or have specific questions please inquire as I have several more photos of the car. I will get back to you as soon as I can. Sorry, I do NOT respond to "What is your reserve?" inquires.Simply put, the reserve is whatever you are willing to pay, so decide how much you're willing to spend, then belly up to the table.I'll give you a hint though, it's in the single digit price range, so bid to own this awesome example of Chevrolet history. If you are researching a shipping quote my zip code is 98273, which is in Mount Vernon, Washington, near Seattle. The car is currently stored indoors and will remain indoors until sold.It is currently licensed and insured through Haggerty. Clear title in hand. The car is 100% roadworthy and can be driven to your home state if you choose to fly in.

Not included with the sale is the Washington license plate/frame and the aftermarket interior floor mats.
