Not too many of these left. Many were cannibalized for parts or used as dirt track cars. Low production rate of less than 7000 units produced in 1975
A desirable year due to its smog exemption in many states due to its age. Check your local emission laws to see if you can put a monster engine in this Laguna.This Laguna still has the AC components and many of the original parts to include the popular swivel seats.
This is a RUST FREE southwestern car. There does appear to be some areas with body filler and slight damage which is shown in the photo. Car comes with grill insert and headlight bezels not shown.
Car run, drives and stops but will need additional engine work.
1975 350 V8 2bbl with a th350 automatic transmission. This engine was a dog of an engine due to the new emission and fuel standards, the death of the muscle car era. This vehicle had a rating of 145 hp.
Although Chevrolet was not sponsoring any NASCAR teams at the time, teams like those owned by hall of fame driver / owner Carl Yarbrough used the Laguna because of its modern slanted front grill and fast back design.The Laguna won consecutive Championships and was banned by NASCAR shortly after for having an unfair advantage due to body design.Dale Earnhardt Jr owns a Laguna and enjoys it as his sleeper.This past year a 74 Laguna was present at SEMA.The Chevelle Laguna S3 model with its slanted nose was used in the famous car Movie Cannonball Run.Mel Tellis and Terry Bradshaw were filmed driving in a Laguna depicted as the NASCAR Hawaiian Tropic car which was deiven into a swimming pool.In the film the actors decide to primer the car so it won't stand out with the Red paint scheme and sponser decals. In a later scene the said Laguna painted gray turns out to be a Monte Carlo. A movie opps not caught by many viewers.Before Burt Reynolds passing he sponsored the selling of a Laguna painted in the Cannonball Hawaiian Tropic scheme. That Laguna was auctioned off at a Barrett Jackson Auction but was the wrong model year, a 1974 and not the correct model year 75 with the slant nose.
