1957 Chevy Bel Air Pro Street

9999999 MILEAGE

1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Description:

Up for auction is another car from my dad's collection. This is a 1957 Chevy Bel Air Hard Top Pro-Street car that he has owned since 1987. The car was originally restored around '89 and had new quarters, doors, inner & outer rockers replaced as well as all new rubbers and seals around the car. It sported a small block with a 4 speed then not the blown big block it has now. It has been garage kept.

This is a real Bel Air 2 door Hard Top. It has disc brakes up front and drums in the rear. The front suspension is stock except the springs have been changed to accommodate to weight of the engine. The body is solid. It has a fiberglass hood with pro-stock style scoop. There are a few pimples on the doors as can be seen in the pics as well as along the rain gutter on the roof, again see pics. A few of the body braces could use some attention. The paint has held up fairly well considering it was done close to 30 years ago. It is faded and there are spots where it is cracking. Both door windows are cracked. All the windows do roll up and down. The interior is good except one area where a rat chewed a spot in the center front of the back seat but it is easily repairable for a couple hundred $. Speedo is not connected. It has Auto-Meter gauges with monster tach and shift light and oil pressure warning light.

The rear is a GM 12 bolt, narrowed with Strange axels, a full spool and 4:30 gears held in place with 4 link adjustable suspension. Transmission is a TH400 with a reverse pattern manual valve body, 4500 RPM stall converter and B&M shifter. The engine is a 481 cu in BBC that has been o-ringed. Callies stroker crankshaft, H beam steel rods & J&E pistons. Complete roller valve train including camshaft, lifters, rockers with stud girdles and HD pushrods. It has a gear drive cam timing set. The heads are GM steel castings that have been opened up for increased flow and larger valves and springs. Blower manifold with BDS 8:71 billet rotor supercharger with a pair of Holley carbs that have been custom built for blower application. MSD ignition with a slip collar distributor and adjustable timing controller in the car.High torque starter. Griffin aluminum radiator. Fuel system is Aeromotive. The regulator has a boost control port to increase or decrease fuel pressure as needed based on blower boost. At 1 to 1 gear ratio on the blower (zero drive) it makes 14 lbs of boost at 5500 rpm. It's sitting on 15X15 Weld Ultra lights in the rear and 15X5 up front. Mickey Thompson tires all the way around. There is well over 20k just in the engine and fuel system alone. This car was a daily driver on and off for many years until we got bored with it wanted to drive a different hot rod. It has been sitting for the past few years but does still get the occasional burn out in front of the house.

If you are not interested in the supercharger, a Edelbrock manifold and new Holley Carb with HEI distributor can be swapped out. You can also have the original steel hood at that point if you chose. You DO NOT get both options and the price doesn't change either way however YOU MUST CALL AND LET US KNOW before the auction ends if you do not want the blower.
