1948 Chevy (customized tow truck)
We built this truck 7 years ago. I drove it to local shows for a few years. It's been sitting in my collection in a climate controlled building. It needs a new home. Someone to drive it and show it off. If it sells I will change the Gas and Oil, Clean the Carbs., install a new battery and get it running.
The drive train consists of a Chevy Big Block engine with a dual carb high rise manifold and a turbo 350 automatic transmission. The cab had 12 inches sectioned out so we could get the shorter stance without chopping the top,(We wanted to retain the large roof visor). All glass is good, no cracks or fogging, side windows roll up and down, Leather bench seat with matching leg rest. (because the seat sits low your legs are bend and having a knee rest helps on long drives)
We installed a Warn electric winch motor and controller to the original winch drum. the boom is manual ratchet set up. We used a 12,000 lb. 100 foot winch cable and a large hook at the end. Although we built the rear bed for looks, it is Fully operational.
We had the rear tires trued for a much smoother ride. I'm selling several trucks in my collection that I just don't drive. Please look at my other listings.
