1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Yenko Tribute Description:

Paying tribute to the legendary cars of Don Yenko is fun. He took a select few Chevrolets to a level of performance that earned him a very well-deserved reputation. But he only built a precious few of them. With the Chevelle, he only built 99. You can imagine what an original would cost to buy now, or fix if you actually drove it and something happened. So, check out this nicely done tribute that looks great, runs strong, and that...you don't have to be afraid to drive. The second generation Chevelle received an all new, sculpted body with a long hood that tapers down in the front and a high rear quarter panels that present a very muscular look. It is considered by many to be the best-looking muscle car of all time. So, take that good-looking body and spend some time making sure the long curving lines are smooth and clean and that the panels line up properly with consistent gaps before you lay on a drop of paint. Then coat it in Orange and dress it up with black SYC stripes on the hood and down the side of the car. Trim it out with chrome around the SS grill up front, underline that with a nice shiny bumper, add some more chrome around the fender wells and rocker panels, and finish it off with a set of awesome Riddler wheels, and you have one sweet looking Yenko tribute that will attract attention no matter where you take it. Open the door and you will find a Black interior that is stock, simple and clean. The door panel itself has a pattern of horizontal lines with a Malibu badge in the center. The split bench seat has been nicely recovered in pleated vinyl and is a comfortable place to travel. However, if you are going to cut this car loose, you might want to hold on tight to the late model 4-spoke steering wheel which feels good in your hands and has a bowtie center button. Behind it are two big round gauges with the speedo on the left and the engine gauges on the right. Just down to the right on the floor is the Hurst shifter for the manual transmission that is just begging to be run through the gears. There is an FM/Cassette deck for your listening pleasure and plenty of room in the back seat for your friends to join you on cruise nights or a road trip. Pop the hood and you find a healthy 350 cubic inch motor resting down in a neat and clean engine bay. A chrome K&N air filter assembly looks good sitting on top of a Holley 4-barrel carburetor. A stock intake, heads and block are nicely painted in Chevrolet Orange and chrome valve covers add a little splash of flash. Long tube headers wind their way out the bottom and back to dual Flowmaster mufflers and give the car a nice healthy sound in the process. Power flows back through the 4-speed manual trans to the rear axle mounted on coil springs and located by trailing arms. Up front, control arms and coil springs keep things under control with the help of the power steering and a beefy front sway bar. Front disc brakes provide good stopping ability if you decide to let the horses run and the rubber meets the road through 245/45R17s all around mounted on those sweet looking Riddler wheels. Orange and Black is a great color combination no matter what car its on. When the black says Yenko Super Car, its even better. Come on down and check this car out. It's fun to drive a Tribute car.
