NO RESERVE - Beautiful 1951 GMC Truck
This truck came from dry western Kansas, and is virtually rust free. Actually I have found no rust anywhere on this truck, and it has spent the majority of its life stored inside.
The farmer I purchased it from, quit using it approximately 10 years ago. I actually pulled it out of his barn where it had been sitting all this time. Once I blew off the inch thick layer of dust it had, I was amazed at how straight it was, and how nice the paint looked. The pictures you see are after a quick rinse off - a couple hrs. of good cleaning and this truck would really shine! Please don't take this to mean it is perfect, it isn't, but it's exceptional for an old farm truck.
Once I got the truck home, I put a battery in, squirted a little gas in the carb, and it fired on the first crank. I hooked up a jug with an electric pump and let the truck run - it sounds excellent. Idles and revs smooth, it does have a slight exhaust leak though. It will need the fuel tank cleaned (smells like old varnish) and a new fuel pump (same reason). The truck drives well, shifts through all gears fine, nearly all of the lights work. The brakes do work, but will need to be bled out and possibly adjusted. It does have power brakes. Also has the 2 speed rear end, and a hydraulic dump bed, that works as it should. This is a perfect candidate for your hobby farm/pumpkin patch, parade truck, or would make for excellent advertisement with the name of your business on the side.
I hauled this on an 18ft heavy car trailer, so it is not hard to transport, and I'm fine with it sitting here awhile so you have time to arrange shipping, as long as its paid for in a timely manner.
